truthfully...

it has very intresting door gaps an both rear doors.

it might be the rain but the colours look slightly different to the drivers door.

not terrible value for money mind you.

there will be better examples of them around though better colours and ironing board.

can you see the panal gap?

It looks more like a 45 than a ZS. So what's the mileage, 44,800 or 448,000 as in the tech list? ;)

£1200 with no MOT? nah!

Would agree with that plus not a true 180 without the extreme spoiler, you will only want to add one at a later date,

Well I'll buck the trend a bit, I think it looks quite tidy to be honest. MOT should be OK. (Did I mention mine passed yesterday).

If the belts have been done, and it's MOT'd, that's worth 2K all day long.

:shoot2: Mine has the low spoiler, yet mine is very much a true 180!

I think the Mk2's suit either spoiler. Mine, now Sheppeyduo's, looks mighty fine I reckon. The Mk1 though ... I'm inclined to agree - It needs the extreme spoiler. Ofcourse for the right money, as I've said before, I could live without it.

Should have taken the booster off the passenger seat.....Is he hiding something ? And IMO a extreme spoiler looks best on a MKI :p

I second what Sharron said. Like the colour, and I wouldn't be too worried about the lack of spoiler.

But I thought you wanted a mkII mate? With the kit etc.? I'd keep sticking the pennies in the bank and get the car you really want, you'll only end up looking at the mkIIs and thinking 'what if...'

Ive sent a few emails about this car as I was also interested, but decided the colour is a bit bland.

Heres whats he said when I asked about the cambelt and noisy engine.....

'hi there cambelt not been done as not due untill 60000 and car drives realy nice 1 of the tapetts slightly noisybut iam not asking'

'I took the car 2 a good friend of mine who is a competent mechanic as i was going 2 have the cam belts done but he assured me it does not need doing. The noise sounds just like a lifter stuck but i cant be sure as i have not had it apart to look at it i intented 2 do it and keep the car for a number of years but my business means it is redundant you are more than welcome 2 view the car first or make me an offer'

Oh if his mate says it's alright then all's good! :slap:

All the more reason to give it a wide berth.

yeah, not bothering just now. had a slight change in circumstances where I have been offered an '02 Mondeo for free with full mot and tax so that is defo a deal breaker! I can get a ZS any time cos I aint passing up a free motor.

Cambelts are due, 90000 miles or 6 years and it's now well over 6 years old. Stay away is my gut feeling.
I have checked insurance database and it shows "MG ZS 180 2003 2497cc Four Door Saloon Manual Petrol"

Would any of your wheels fit it though? ;)

There's a thought, why not buy a car that fits the wheels! :w00t:

He's also got a new MOT ner, ner, nerner, ner!

Did they do a 45 with a 2.5 KV6?

The low spoiler was an optional "extra" on the mk1 180.

£1200 with no mot, no way.

And whats this about a stuck lifter?

stamford
07-12-09, 06:48 PM
The 45 was only available as the 2.0 KV6. The low level was a no cost option over the extreme spoiler as that was standard. Looks wrong with a low one on the mk1 imo.

Yea the stuck lifter doesn't sound right either, would be a rare thing too.

Am I the only one who likes the colour then?

stamford

Would probably look better in the flesh, not what I would call a 'Z' colour imo.

It's royal blue, according to the mkI sales brochure. I really like it.
