need to see the pics, its hard to tell if its repairable.

Be aware though insurance company are likley to write it off, they do now-a-days for such a silly amount of damage.

depends how bad the damage is under the body panels is it a mk1 or mk2

If it's the rear then it will deffo be an insurance write off, regardless of the amount of damage :(

As said above, mk1 or mk2? Age? Mileage?

I don't mean to be the bringer of doom, but lets face it;

The book value for our cars is like £3000 or less, insurance companies are very reluctant to authorise repairs that come to more than 20%-30% on them, which means £600?

Bearing in mind that anything that involves a paint job is more or less a write off - front end can be got away with because it's a simple case of replacing a panel, but rear end involves good old panel beating & prep, which takes time and costs money :(

I'd love to be wrong, but insurance companies are more than willing to take your money, and kick up a fuss when they have to pay out :(

There is 3 shades of XPower grey

no, they need to use the correct shade

Even if it is the same shade, it will need blending otherwise it will stick out like a sore thumb!

We did a spray job on a new Rover 75 when I was at college, used proper Rover paint and it looked cack without being blended in over a few panels

I'm guessing you are talking about new panels...

There have to be loads of 2nd hand ones from written off ones with how easily they scrap them now.

You are polishing the clear coat, this has next to no bearing at all on the actual "faded" colour underneath, if its faded at all......
