Maybe ring round your local motorfactors, one of them may be doing a deal, if you have a trade card Halfords possibly.

Ebay you want a 063 type iirc. Halfords is pretty price for a standard battery

I've got the same thing, I was wondering if its a bad earth or alternator as the battery takes a charge and the little window shows green, but the battery is 6 years old, so I suppose its about ready for a change.

the diesels are right funny with the batteries, my one on my van was brand new in april, but the cold we have had just proved that its a crap one,

I dont like the look of the battery to earth cable, I have an old one from my MGB and thats a heavy duty, proper cable. Will change it over when it warms up a bit, just carrying a jump battery and leads around, just in case.
