Has anyone done this in a mk2?

Any idea of how big a job it is?

Thanks

yeah I did it on my old Mk2 with the assistance of KevG

It wasn't actually nearly as big a job as I thought it would be - you just need to know exactly what bits you need to pilfer from the breakers.

All the wires exist in the doors and under the arm rest, you just need to match them up.

KevG will be able to tell you exactly as he has done a few now

Oh great, hate having windy windows in the back.

Will wait for him to come on and give a bit of advice then :)

Kev helped me with the first side on mine and did the t'other side meself, reckon you could everything in under an hour easily:)

you need

Window regulators x 2
rear switches x 2
Wire loom for inside rear doors x 2
Set of front switches to screw into centre console

Then either door cards from car with electric windows or a blank to fill in holes that will be there after removal of winders

I have a set of leccy window door cards but the material is different to the front ones in my zs.

I used chrome tap hole blanks and the chrome surround from the old winder and rather like the result:)

If anyone had retro fitted elec rear windows was exactly the same question I was going to ask tonight.

Has anyone got any ideas the best place I can go for the parts you list or is it a case of trawling around breakers, would I be right that the bits are directly inter changeable from the Rover 45 ones?

Be great if KevG could give us some techy info as well

thanks.

I'm sure mine came from a Rover 400 or a 420... I can't remember

I was also going to do this a while back but i was told your car needs to have the brown connector under the armrest aswell, but mine didnt have it so i didnt bother..!

I think Mk2 were made with all the plugs for all the optional extras, my Mk2 ZR and ZS both did anyway
