I'm currently upgrading my induction kit with alloy tubing and silicone hoses. Also looking for Black rear lights. Just replaced all 4 tyres with Kumhos' - they are awesome, especially in the wet and if they are good enough for Porsche then they're good enough for me ! Also going to get around to fitting my TOORA pedals from the WSR ZS and then i'm going to do the heated seat conversion. Another minor mod' i'm going to do is get a glove box from a Rover 45/ZS MK1 as it is lined and not just hard plastic that makes everything rattle.

A few of the MG F/TF people have used the cigarette lighter hole to mount the start button. Obviously, on the F it is on the tunnel so it is in better position than the ZS for this.

No plans at present due to lack of available funding! All the bits I want are expensive...............sports cat, manifolds, cams and remap, not much eh! :D

Thinking of getting my rims refurbed and powder coated.

Ho hum, that's what we seniors have to put up with when we have kids! Oh, I also have to work on their cars too :look:

Craig

400 quid + new. Second hand is a gamble, still expensive and you dont know how long they will last

Finaly got my induction kit sorted out and i'm really pleased with it, it sounds incredible and goes fantastic, eliminating the flat spot i had low down due to the previous set up being inefficient and restrictive.
My Green inducton kit (inner wing fitment) is now conected by custom stainless tubing to the filter body with a 90 degree bend to bring it into the engine bay. The rest is connected to the throttle body with lovely blue silicone hosing and to top it off a mini breather filter and matching blue hose.
Would show a picture but i'm not allowed to anymore :(

Next on my ZS will be lowering and bigger brake disks.
I have new rims since one month. The are 17" band the tyre measurement is 215/40 so overall diameter is smaller.

I also want the bigger disks as the original ones look ridiculousely small behind the spokes

sduk

what will you chose for the lowering?

MGPete
20-09-07, 12:19 PM
Dunno yet.
Was thinking about the Xpowers, but the might be too green under the car ;-)

Been told that Eibachs are used by MG-Rover too. So might have a look at those too !?

sduk

what sort of drop are you after? i have fancied lowering springs but dont want to sacrifice ride comfort.

MGPete
20-09-07, 12:31 PM
Me neither.
I'm thinking of 2 centimeters.

I've told that the Eibach's don't give in much on the comfort. As we all know, the Zed's pretty stiff of itself :-)

Craig

im loathed to drop mine, after bone shaking suspension in my old zr im loving the fantastic suspension in the zs. IMO is like a magic carpet ride compared to the zr on avos. I would be scared to ruin a fantastic setup just for looks.

MGPete
20-09-07, 03:27 PM
Same here.
First bigger brake disks. Will think about lowering later. Still have to save for it tho ;-)

Well Pipercross Viper enclosed induction kit is next. Cant wait heheh

MGPete

Don't forget the 52mm throttlebody after that, Robstar. Only then you will get the best results from your Viper, as the smaller 48mm TB will be the bottleneck for the improves airflow of the Viper.

I have the MG xpower eibach springs on my 180, not a lot of diffrence comfort wise, car sits a bit lower, handles better and depending on the wheels you have you don't see the colour of them and after a few thousand miles they will be that dirty you probably see the colour of them anyway.

sduk
21-09-07, 11:31 AM
dont suppose you have before and after pics of the springs do you Grimmy? I never realised you had these, will look closer next time, what do you think the drop is?

im going to try the motobuild springs if worst comes to worst and it is too harsh ill just change them back

Im tempted by the motobodge ones too after i convert to the mk2 bodykit with wheels :mml:. The xpowers are good if your worried about the ride. But i think for handling purposes the motobodge ones will be better. I personally like very little body roll.
They look very low on mk1s too.

I have been out in a mk1 hatch with motobodge springs and it wasnt to bad at all. looked the nucking futs too :)
their also a bit cheeper
