Hey guys, I have just booked my car in for tuesday next week to have CAT back system made up. Can you post some pictures of single exit exhuast types you have fitted with an approximate size and description ie size of pipe and and size of back box exit.

Has anyoen ever put a twin style exit on the back not a duplex two pipes from one back box?

something like this

Thanks.

Didn't Dan have twin squares done recently before he sold it? Twins will get a bit tight as the heatshield shape doesn't really offer a twin set-up, but that will depend upon the pipe O/D and pitch.

Mine is the Janspeed Xpower probably 3" exit. Think I prefer slash cut just like OE. Think the twin pipes are more suited for the ZR.

Mine is the same as this... seems to be the most common. It's 'just nice' sound. Gets better as it 'cokes up' & 'beds in' too.

Maybe you could get twins in standard heatshield if you can them round but with flat side - like a D shape, flat to flat if you see what I mean.

I'm not too sure whether you can buy this anymore. Maybe Janspeed sells their own version rather than labelling Xpower. The exhaust is not loud comparing to most but do produce a rasping sound when accelerating hard. Afterall it is part of the Xpower range so you wouldn't expect to be chavvy loud.

Had mine done by "Longlife" in St Albans.

£300 for a cat back. Loads of choice on exit pipes, but mine - square - did get a lot of positive comments.

Best one for the back-box which, it was pointed out needed a small section cut out to accomodate in the rear valance. Basically, the bigger the box, the quieter. I asked for a mid-sports sound. It really was perfect if I'm honest.

Now that I have seen the twin from Rich you may stop. It looks rubbish so I wont be going for that option.

I just had a look for my tailpipes pictures, shocked to see my system has been fitted for nearly 4 years now! Mines a Janspeed large bore slash cut, same as the XPower ones, but two of em ;)

Sorry Rich I did not mean to be harsh. I think I am going to go for an inwardly rolled pipe, around 4inch at the exit. However I will just have to play with the sleection at the garage when I arrive and see what look right.

Twins can't fit properly in the recess, you have to have it hanging low which I don't think looks very good - I wanted twins on mine when I had the exhaust made but when they showed me how it would like by holding the exhaust up against the car I changed my mind.

Yep , thats the same as mine. A nice deep sort of sound aswell, not one of these dodgy exhausts that just sounds like the exhaust is blowing!!

Here is mine - it is one of 9 in existance (but one has a 6x4 oval instead)

it is a 3.5" backslash - and now is fitted centrally

Ignore the filthy rest of the car ;) (although looking again it is not half as bad as it has been with my fueling issues i had previously )

How did you get it to fit centrally? Mine is off to to the left, is it a case of heating it up and moving it?

Much more ghetto than that, I cable tied the rubber to make it grip better an just push it across periodically.

otherwise yeah a bit of a bend would be needed to alter the way it sits i suspect.
