looks ok but is hiding some issues: overfuelling, bad rust to roof area, rusty rear arch, faulty lambda sensor, needs new brakes, needs all new filters (including fuel), installing a 52mm alloy throttle body, needs new oil and a general tidy up and then and only then will it be ready for its MOT lol.

me and stevedx (of this site) are collecting it via trailor on the 5th of june from weymouth. cant let another one bite the dust!

wish me luck!

Good luck.

The rust on the roof will be fun to sort, the rest looks straight foward.

I know absolutely nothing about these. Is it just a Rover 25 with some red bits or is there more to it than that?

If its lived in Weymouth, most likely the sea air hasnt helped the rust.

Best of luck, sure it will be a quick car when youve got it sorted, always wanted one!!

yeah, the rust on the roof cannot be attcked with a quick weld or anything as the heat will just warp the roof. i have a few ideas of how to halt its spread but im going to experiment with a few things and see how it turns out. to be fair i was after a second brm for my fleet, so this is perfect for me. ill probably shove a new head gasket in it aswell to just to be sure.

Wow, 2 brms, now thats a bit greedy!

You could get away with tig welding the roof, with a copper block on the inside of the skin, the bigger issue over warping would be the proximity of the front windscreen, as its bonded in you will more than likely melt the glue and it may release.

Wouldnt be impossible to do though, alot of preparation and some very careful TIG welding and it'd be sorted for good!

If you dont mind me asking how much did this set you back? Im very tempted to find a cheap BRM project to go on the side!

Well done, good to see these being looked after. Looks pretty good otherwise.

very nice, do like the BRM!! I reckon the windscreen would have to come oot anyway as the rust will extend right under the seal, I am sure of that!! IMO that is where the rot started as see so many MG/Rovers starting to rust round the windscreen so beginning to think whatever method they used for putting in windscreens at the factory was flawed and lets corrrosion in where you canna see it for a while:)
