Well might aswell post this, I bought it with an engine fault and damage to the rear passenger door. engine fault turned out to be 2 smashed up valves, so new headgasket, replacement valves and some fun times.
Old on the outside and replacements on the inside -

Brill project! When you do the vvc conversion are you going to just swap the head or the complete engine. Nat (ZS Nutter) has a complete vvc engine for sale which he was going to put in his zs 120 but has now decided to get a diesel. http://www.themgzs.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=12191

Its a 1.4 bottom end, you cant fit the vvc head to the 1.4 (would need to pocket the liners) therefore not worth it, ive got a vvc in the garage, but its a 143, therefore distributor/coils at back of block, I want a 160vvc (coilpacks on top) which im trying to get off my mate, I will be fitting the 160vvc and a BRM LSD PG1 box that ive got in the shed ;)
Going to be getting parts over the next few months, need some PG1 driveshafts and gearbox mounts, and will then rebuild the 160vvc with a ported and polished head and a set of mike satur mems3 cams, so hopefully 170-180bhp ;)

Ahh ok, I was assuming it was already a 1.8 non vvc for some reason. Yeh the one Nat is selling is a 143 one from an F. To be honest if I was doing it I would go for a 158 myself, stronger pistons too apparently not to mention possibility of a re-map with MEMS3. Sounds like a really good project, are you keeping the body work as is? If so it will be quite a smart looking sleeper ;)
Make sure you keep us updated!

yeh 160vvc is on the cards. Im getting some chrome mirror caps and looking at getting the rubstrips chromed, im contemplating a zs bodykit at some stage and it will get lowered, hopefully with coilovers! It will always stay rover badged.
Nice mate, love the wheels.
