Upgraded to an ST-3 a week or so ago and as I gave it it's first proper clean since I bought it thought it would be good to go out and get some pics.

Next couple of months should see:

- lowering
- tints
- touchscreen headunit
- remap
- exhaust

and who knows what else!

Anyway, pics are here:

Seem to be getting popular these days, my missus would like one but no chance as she would die with that sort of power!

I've been thinking of one of these as a replacement for my ZS, either that or a Mini Cooper-S or Civic Type-R

I just know i'd end up comming back to MG though. I bought an Astra Coupe a few years back after owning a few Rovers, Only had the astra 3 months and sold it again and bought a ZR.lol

I work for a Ford garage, the ST are so unreliable!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And you still get a boring basic FOCUS interior and that horrible grey plastic grille...................

Also meant to add no chance of putting a baby seat in the back, as the rear seats are sculptered!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm i've heard that they are really good for reliability... got a 2 year warranty at the dealership anyway haha.

Basic Focus interior? Hmm... full leather heated Recaros, turbo boost gauge?? lol :axe:

And really not worried about a baby seat lol, i only just turned 21 lmao!!

I must admit I do have a soft spot for the ST, the engine is a cracking bit of work!! (And that's coming from a high-revving non-turbo loving Honda nut!) :)

Prefer the new style Focus though :)

I researched them before buying and all seemed to be good.... not fussed anyway, got full warranty with the local Ford dealer so if anything goes wrong they can sort it!

we where all talking about it at work the other day, n we where saying theyre really bulletproof, i would have one, but if i had my choice of that and a mazda 6 mps, the mps would win me over:P expensive for parts though

How chunky does it feel to drive? Does it respond well?

They always seem huge when looking at pictures/standing outside but have never driven one..

Feels solid inside, nice to drive about but you still feel like you can throw it around a bit. But yeah, definately can tell its a lot more substantial than the zed was.

Power delivery is very smooth, as you would expect with a 2.5 turbo put your foot down and it will go whatever revs you are at, very nice for day to day driving especially but you can also boot it about a bit and it will feel quick. Doesn't boost that hard though so very different from driving an Evo or a VXR where you feel it a lot more with the bigger turbos. But a remap will soon change that!

Yeah there are so many options out there for the money but this was my fave out of the lot, was so tempted to get an e46 330 coupe or maybe even m3, but that's just because i'm a bit of a poser and would love rolling up to uni in one of those lol!!!!!!! In the end made the decision for the right reasons, the only car I got inside and really loved driving & the noise it made was the ST, so ST I bought! Everytime I get home and park on the drive have to rev it up a couple of times just to hear that exhaust burble, awesome noise lol!

i like the mazda purely because its a wolf in sheeps clothing, 4wd too, remember first one i ever drove at work, i thought okay lets ee what this can do, so pulled away from idle, and thought was oh not much different to the spo...ffffffeck turbo kick was awesome and planted, not got the same rumbe as the st though, you should hear the rs driving through the showroom sounds brilliant n growly, same as yours will with the remap and zaust:)

I only have driven the 1.(summit, think it was a 1.8) focus hire car i had for a 300mile trip. Could not get used to the driving position, and while i am sure the car corners really well, i could not get any confidence in it.

I am 100% sure that would\could be altered with getting to know the car more, but it really did not feel as planted as the ZS did. Also it being a nasp petrol i found it 'hard work' when pressing on...

I really have no idea what i will get as a replacement* for the ZS... am liking the XF's though, but they are getting quite common a sight now.

* by replacement i mean 2nd car that will be better suited for a family, as the ZS will be with me til i die (or so is the plan :)).

looks like a cracking motor mate, the five cylinder lump ford stick in there is basically a Volvo engine, there quite reliable! ;)

A great place for tech support on these models would be the ffoc forums, members are very helpfull on there, i`m a former member myself so know the score! ;)
