MG ZS-X MG-Rover development Vehicle

This car was used by MG-Rover to test a Sprintex supercharger in 2004. MG-Rover went bust before development of this car could finish, and the supercharger was removed before the car was sold at auction.
The car has a one-off bonnet bulge which was designed in Australia and manufactured in England.
This car was code named the ZS-X by MG-Rover, and was going to be model number one of 500 if development had continued.

The car has a huge factory specification including:

2.5 v6 engine
Monogram Twilight Chromactive Paint
Electric front and rear windows
Full electric tilt and slide sunroof
Reversing sensors
Headlight washers
Half leather and grey alcantara seats
High level rear spoiler
Kenwood stereo and CD changer
Traffic Master clock
Electronic climate control air conditioning
Electric mirrors
Black dashboard inserts

The car has the following tasteful modifications. Please note: ‘X-Power’ was MG-Rover’s official tuning brand, also under the name of MG Sport and Racing. These products were tested on the MG vehicles for thousands of miles, and are not just cheap Halfords bolt-on parts.

MG Sport and racing stainless steel exhaust manifolds
Stainless steel decat pipe (original cat included in sale)
MG X-Power stainless steel exhaust back box
ITG-Maxogen carbon fibre induction system
EBC greenstuff fast road brake pads
4 Brand new Avon ZZ3 tyres (less than 500 miles wear)
Xenon headlight kit
New number plates
New front and rear MG badges
Full paintwork correction eliminating swirl marks and scratches
Alcantara drivers seat retrimmed to remove bobbles
All 4 door handles repaired as these were pulling away from the doors
New rear spoiler bolts
New Bosch wiper blades
LED sidelight and interior light bulbs
Alloy wheels refurbished
Interim oil and filter change carried out
Custom Honda civic clutch hydraulic setup replacing weak Rover master and slave cylinder
Plus so much more………

This is an immaculate car as you’d expect of a rare piece of MG history.
There are no stone chips, swirl marks, scratches, dents or anything at all.

5 months tax remaining
10 months MOT remaining

Mileage:28,400

Service history full and complete

Cambelt change needed November 2010 – price reflects this.

Both key fobs present

V5 present showing me as the current owner

I am a huge MG enthusiast and have owned 5 of the modern MG's in as many years. I am incredibly fussy with my cars and every inch of this has been brought up to showroom condition since I took ownership of it.

I get the same filtering at work too!

It's a MK2 saloon with the big spoiler and lip spoiler too.

Now officially for sale

Post 1 updated to show more mods/money spent in last month inc new tyres, brake pads, decat etc

This is still for sale. Finance has been approved on a Vectra VXR so I am in need of getting this gone asap to avoid losing the vectra.

Price possibly negotiable to cover travel expenses.

Staccato, whilst this is a very rare car unfortunately I do not feel it is worth what you are asking. No way would anyone pay that much when they can pickup a mk2 else where for much much cheaper. Sorry chap!

That's just your opinion.

The last ZS MK2 I sold in May 2009 for ?6000
I sold my Vectra VXR for ?2000 over book figure and straight after that I sold my clio williams for ?3100 - crazy money for a 16 year old car.

There's always a buyer out there somewhere.

I'm currently in the market for a zed. Now, I don't have 5k in the bank, but even if I did I wouldn't pay 5k for this car. I'd pay maybe 4k at a push. 3.5k more realistically.

I wish you every luck with the sale but if you want it gone quick your gonna have to drop the price I reckon!

I accepted an offer of ?4750 this afternoon. Deposit left and the new owner is returning by train on Friday to drive it home with him.
