Looks good, questionable floor mats, though

The photo makes the interior look more garish than it actually is, looks very bright in the photo. The original rubber mats are in the boot but they are tatty and ugly. I think the red mats are MG as its got the flag logo on it?

looks very clean not a big fan of the hatch but you got to love the v6 has it had the belt change yet as they are due at 6years or 90k also cant see that rear box helping performance looks like its smaller than standard, but get a full system exhaust / decat / air and a remap and you wont be far off 200 bhp as i know js had mine done to day all the best dave

Cheers for all the replys :bounce: I'm enjoying it v.much so far! Yea i noticed the pea shooter on the back, would that cause a bit of a bottle neck with the gas flow? The guy said its had a new back box on it, but it doesnt look right.

I'm having a bit of an urgent issue with the bootlid at the mo (not closing shut, just bounces back open) if anyone can help?

Lovely looking car mate

Cheers. It feels very luxurious to me actually, going by the list of cars i've owned before, i've never had electric mirrors or front fogs lol. I look at it as my little executive hot hatch!

I'm not really looking to spend money on this one modifying this. I spent lots on my 1.7 puma with stainless exhausts and coilovers ect so i'm hopefully past that stage. Just going to enjoy a standard quiet car for a while which already has the performance.

I'm only 23 so insuring it is quite tough for me at the mo, but i'll pull it off. If i change anything it will be the back box for another standard one but one that looks less restrictive than the one thats on it at the mo, and maybe fit an MG TF leather wheel. Looked at the guide, it does look nice and its got a bit of a boat wheel in there atm.

i would fit this to it
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MG-ZS-BACK-BOX-180-HATCH-EXHAUST-SCORPION-STAINLESS-NEW-/230389063522?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35a4421f62
as it wont make it much louder but will look nice
as i found mine only got loud once i fitted the decat and mid box
worth a look anyway

Just thought i'd update a little.

Things i've had done:

- Camshaft sensors and Crankshaft sensors replaced after a break down
- ABS reluctor rings replaced
- 2 New Falken Ziex 912's on the rear
- Sound proofed behind the front door cards and installed some new 165mm speakers with BMW mini spacers
- Painted Brake callipers red

Also, this afternoon ive just got in from fitting a brand new stainless piper backbox to replace the pea shooter rover back box that was on it before.

Was a bit of luck really as i got it off eBay from the Demon Tweaks shop and they were selling it off cheap as old stock. Its also got the 3 inch outward rolled tip which i just happen to prefer over a slash cut or inward rolled.

Had a bit of trouble getting it on first, as the bore was much larger than the back box which came off, it had quite a bit of trouble getting past the corner of the petrol tank which i had to ever so slightly bend back with plyers. No damage done though.

Where it kept getting stuck on the tank:

All fitted:

Looks a lot better!! any increase in noise?

haGGard
30-09-10, 03:09 PM
Well because it's blowing around the flange there is more noise but still not a lot. Need to sort out the blowing somehow where the rolled piper flange meets the flat standard center section.

I bought it for looks really and i think its doing that quite nicely.

I've got some HID 6000k bulbs on order for this. As soon as i find some fog light bulbs which emmit a white light too i'll fit them, would look crap with white lights and yellow fogs.

Also got some wind deflectors on order. I'm not sure on them 100% but i cant stand when you open your window or wash your screen and all the water pisses down onto the door card!

Wind deflectors fitted. I like them actually. You can just make out the site stickers in the rear quarters.

Apologoes for the pinkness on the car next to mine lol

Done a few jobs recently, changed the disks and pads for new ones all round, fitted an oil catch tank and some rear headrests. Also put a new pollen filter in today. Think thats all

http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd242/haggard04/catchtankclose.jpg

http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd242/haggard04/fitted.jpg

Fitting the pollen filter, i must have found a whole forest inside my car! What a mess!!

http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd242/haggard04/polenfilter.jpg

Finally, as it was such a nice sunny warm day today, i gave the car a good once over with a sponge! Comes up pretty nice with just a quick wash!

http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd242/haggard04/carback.jpg

Oh, and ive also bought a MG TF leather wheel which is like new, and a TF airbag, which do do with a clean up tbh. Just awaiting on a coupler so i can fit it!

Wind deflectors i just got on ebay. Think they cost around 30 quid but i cant remember. You can fit them yourself in 5 minutes, they just push up into the window frames.

Certainly looks good, well worth all the time and effort.

On the derv when we decatted it, there was a metal gasket, dont know if you had one on the flange where its blowing, or if you could get one to fit.

I got them off ebay, if you search for BMW mini speaker adaptors

Something like this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-MINI-FRONT-2001-SPEAKER-ADAPTER-165mm-CT25BM05-/190342468741?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_FasciaPlates _SM&hash=item2c514b9485

Pretty sure i got the 165mm ones, not the more common 130mm ones. Oh and my car is coming to your garage for an MOT on monday! Completely forgot when its due, turns out its the 28th! lol. Only found out when i came to tax it this morning and the DVLA website says i cant tax it on my current certificate, as the new tax starts after the current MOT ends.

Yea i like to spin the wheels of steel from time to time :) Just sold a set of CDJ's on ebay as i never used them, i much prefer vinyl. I've only got oldskool UK garage, and also got quite a few house tunes.

Im not brilliant by all means, but ive got a little mix here of UKG http://soundcloud.com/haggard04/1stfebfullmix1210

It's definitely a sound UKG, not one I've really got into but not a bad mix mate. Deffo prefer the vinyl though, used to love the old skool DJs, the likes of Sasha, Digweed...ah back in the day! :yoji:

haGGard

Thats the last mix i made, feb last year! I've hardly touched them since, but i still have a little mix up every now and again. Not really a fan of laptop djing.

Small update, got a powerflow center section and decat fitted yesterday. Originally it was going to be straight through pipe untill it got to the piper back box, but it roared like a beast! So he stuck a middle box in for me. Quality of work looks very good, and it still sounds good. You can drive it quiet and it makes the best noise when driven harder, i like the pops and bangs too (only seem to get them in first gear though, and when changing to second)

Still, heres a video of it in action.
