Were you doing 60mph and not flooring it? ;)

Also wind can affect it, quite possible you had tail winds!

 nice choice or words there! Perhaps it's a sign of old age ;)

I averaged 320 to tank when commuting, had in excess of 400 ONCE! That was on holiday and driving like a tourist!

ya'll be suprised how well these big engines do on long motorway journeys!

Should of said you were around london though, could of used a bit of a clean ;)

Big engines do far better on a motorway as they use much less power getting upto speed. :)

2.5L sitting at 1.5k rpm or a 1.2L screaming at 3/4k rpm :)

just try explaining that to a woman who insists on using a 1.2 for commuting :|

Did a long run on my current tank and is currently showing 260 miles complete with just above a quarter tank left which should be good for at least another 100 miles. Mostly motorway hovering 70-75mph most of the time but with a little spirited driving keeping up with traffic.

atm i have got unlimited mpg... but that is cos i dont have a car :(

45mpg out the 120 is pretty impressive.. if i stuck to 65 in mine it would be more like 55.

most i ever saw out of a tank was 600miles, i managed to repeat it conistantly for a month as i was stuck driving like Miss Daisy down A roads between 45-55mph in deepest darkest wiltshire, worked out at over 60mpg!

Well I must be doing something wrong because I would be lucky to get anywhere near 300 miles to a tank and have never got any better. Are you guys cheating and free wheeling quite a bit?

The best mileage I have got out of a full tank of fuel is about 280. That was driving sensibly, mostly motorway and not going over 70. :smile1:

Sounds like somebody is in dire need of a health check on their motor ;)

Nah, car is running sweet mate. It's probably the cheap Morrisons fuel I put in her!! lol

I don't do lots of mileage, mainly short runs up to 12 miles, so not good mpg!

20 quid gets me around 120 miles, with some lead in my right foot. ;)

Just started using VPower, bit pricier but i hear you get better mileage and it does help prolong the life of your fuel system, valves and cat.

Whats the best mix too use with normal unleaded, or is it best to use pure? Maybe I should fill the car up too the brim to get better mpg?

I usually run around with half a tank of fuel and that lasts me a week. :trampoline:

Its actually more economical to let your car roll to a stop in gear than freewheel.

Currently on 337 miles and the needle is about 2cm above red. I find driving below 3k revs before the VIS operates is more economical.

Thats really good fuel economy, want too see what I can get on a full tank, shall be Friday that I fill her up from just at the top of the red.

Want too try a full tank of premium unleaded and the next time VPower and see if there is much difference not taking it above 3k revs, but that is not always easy to do! lol :D

Be an interesting experiment.

I drove to the Isle of Wight from Stafford this week and then drove home and during the week I did around 50 miles whilst on the Island. It cost me ?50 in fuel :)

190 + 190 + 50 = 430 miles on ?50.00 :) Good times.

Seems the 180 likes a good run. I see my daughter every month. 170 there 170 back.
Can do that easy on one tank. I find the ZS so comfy at cruising at 65 that you get there quicker than in other cars. Leaves you spare petrol to whizz about once you get there.

When I used to do the trip in my Rover 214Sei, I used more fuel.

Going up on sunday, will make a note of exact mileage and fuel..........:super:

Lol, I don't know what my car is running on then, I only get about 250 - 270 on a full tank, but I do alot of shorter runs. Work is 24 miles there and back, dual carriageway for some of it. A full tank normally lasts me 2 weeks. :smile1:

Back from Stoke on Trent. Round trip of 361 miles and still got fuel left! Kept to a steady 50-60 both ways.............Not being a grandad, its called ROADWORKS!!!!!!!!!!!! Average speed cameras on way up and constant spray on way home. Was suprised to have some left, and even more suprised that the petrol was only ?111.09!!!!
