Guys It is now decided that it is going to be a zs I get no matter what

So just wondering as a first car I am going to be keeping this for some years so at the end of it i want it to be the best of the best but truing to think what the logical mods for the 110 would be as I was thinking

Year 1 nothing as insurance

Year 2 exhaust induction cams
Year 3 vvc and custom exaust and induction for it
Year 4 nitros as well ????

Anyone else think of a more logical way or things to do

If going to mod one is there much difference between insuring a 110 and a 120? I'm no expert on the 110 but surely a 120 is a better base to start from? I'm just looking at your age and likely mods for a 110 may push your premiums up more so than a 120.

I know but money isn't a problem and they won't know about the cams says me that works for a insurance company...............lol. Only joke cams might be a bit far but in best case senario

And I can't get insurance for the 1.8 and mum and dad say no ............lol

Well if that's the case what chance have you got modding it if they are keeping their beady eyes on you!

Go for the 110 and carry out sensible mods until such time you can afford a bigger one perhaps.

I'll tell the truth that I am a bit sentimental about things and so many times my family members say that there best car is there first and I spent so much time deciding on a good safe reliable nice looking car so my plans is to keep it and get it as good is possible and later buy a 180 as well as a investment I know it sounds sad but hey I anti makeing that mistake

How much were you getting quotes for on a 120 corey? Just that when I was shopping about for my ZR the difference between a 105 and 120 was very little and as Mick says it would be a better starting point. TBH you would save money in the long run giving you more to spend on mods u like :D

If you do get a 110 tbh apart from exhaust and induction I think you would be mair worthwhile spending money on cosmetic upgrades:)

*edit* seen why now lol:D

The zeds a gud looking car and I think the 1.6 is more revvy as well because it has a shorter stroke???

Wasn't Sammy's a 110? That was a cracking zed.

Have never personally had the chance to drive a 110 yet but when I had a shotty of a 120 zs it did feel nice, slower than the zr 120 slightly but still a nice drive tbh.

Best bet is to test drive both versions if possible and see what you feel yersel mate:)

Well a 120 with a bodykit mk 2 is easier to get but as I said mum and dad are drawing the line at a zr 105 so a 120 out of the question.....lol

Corey the 110 with the 180 kit is the ultimate sheep in wolfs clothing,
Group 10 insurance, ?180 per year Tax, and Very easy on fuel.
You will have Nova ned & corsa tossa back off..
Dont jump the gun on mods with something you aint yet got,,
Follow Stephens example and learn to drive well first..

If he had a 180 at 17 he would probably do more than drool over it...
Give a nice shine though......

Bearing in mind Jim, Corey's dad, had a nice 180 for drooling purposes and I think you got some good advice in that you should spend the first year or two gaining driving experience and skills.
This will have 2 effects.
One: your dad will see you are a responsible driver and may let you drive the 180 once in a while.
Two: you don't want to gain 3 points or have an insurance claim for a wee accident in those first two years cos finding insurance for an 18/19 year old with points/claims will be even worse.

Motto: Learn to drive well, you want a clean license and insurance policy at your age to free up spare cash for future cars/mods.

Yeeh essence ally I have got a 180 I just need to enherit....lol

And I think there will be another year or two with no mods as by that time people my age are now moving to the civic then I'll mod..........lol

the 110 isnt that slow, you obviosly need to drive it differently to a 180 to make it go fast
you can spend a lot of money and not get a lot of power from that money. ive got cams to go in mine see how that goes. tbh though cars quick enough 95% of the time too many police these days and in town ect theres not even any point driving quick just end up looking like an idiot and sitting next to the same person you overtook 5 miles ago and they werent speeding lol

Yeeh I can see what u mean and what I will be say againt all the 180 for the first two years is why do u need all that power ur only allowed to go 70

Cringed when I said that

Lol

I'm old enough to know better, and even my derv has got me into trouble.

Dont know if the colour sticks out a bit, or what, but gone nearly 40 years without a blemish on my licence, then two months after buying the car, and then a month or so back, oops, now I will behaving myself.

Also, never been pulled over by the police in any other car, now I've had the two above little bits of excitment, and I've also been stopped twice. Once at 12 at night and the other time in Bonnie Scotland.

I'm sure its the colour, big wing and dark tints, says it all really, police do seem a bit surprised when I crawl out. i'm sure they think I'll be a twenty year old!!!

As you say, you can only go so fast before you get into trouble, take the car out on track if you want to see its limits.

Still wouldnt change it though.

I honestly wouldn't mod it, performance wise. At all....

It's your first car, the 1.6 to you is going to feel like a rocket ship, your going to be the next Colin McRae, and it's got a good chance of being stacked. Especially if your Dad owns a 180 and you want to try and go as fast as his does.

Save your money, get a year or 2 experience then buy a 120 which I read accept mods pretty damn well.

I know I sound harsh, but I'm 22 and know exactly where your coming from AND you even sound similar to me when I was your age.

Next time were at a meet or sumtin, you can try mine if you want :)

Im doing nothing more to my ZS, Exept possibly changing it for one with a Kit on it. Will do what iv done to this one though. Only other thing is a cat back exhaust.

When iv had insurance for 2-3 years then im going for a 160 vvc :)

I'm with Phate, don't bother with mods... for one the insurance company will bend you over even further than normal and as said it increases the chance of crashage

remember the pics I put up of that mangled Mk2 at fast and modified a few years back? That was just a bodykitted 110 and it rolled 7 times into a feild killing the young lad instantly.

Enjoy the car for what it is, gain experiance and build on it from there

when you're a bit older I'll flog you a T series for it hehe
