which model is more fuel-efficient?

180 has a V6 engine, but someone told me 180 is more fule-efficient, or same as 120+.

guys, what do you think. Assuming that they are standard car.

:cigar::yikes::snorkle::saddam::saddam::thankyou:

The 120 is way more efficent. IIRC the book figures for the 120 are 38.9 mpg combined and the 180 is 29.7 mpg combined.

But that V6 rumble more than makes up for it haha!!

If the 180 was more fuel efficient, then we would all have V6's!

Just got 520 miles from a tank in my 120, which is 43.3 mpg, 180's struggle to get 350 from a tank.

I managed well over 400 miles.........................once! I have no idea how, I was on holiday so was probably driving like a tourist! 320 is my average when commuting with mixed driving.

I get around 300 - 450 miles to a tank on the 180, depending how I drive...

Max I get in the 120 is 350 per tank... (although I think the problem is trying to get the performance out of the 120!)

i have driven reading to bradford and back again on less than a full tank in the 120 was doing about 65mph was at night time so no start stop around just over 500 miles coverd on this trip then i put an induction kit on that growls and well not really sure cant be any better than what a v6 does

My ZS180 uses ?40 per month. It is the most fuel efficent car I have ever owned.
Why cos I walk to work lol. And my marshalling is always on a nice run, and always gget ovr 300 on a tank.

Then on the odd wkd my evil side comes out and the lanes are calling, window down i can use the tank up in about 150 miles. But the fun, thats what makes the 180 the best.:bounce:

i know what you mean on the last bit but my problem was back lanes in the summer windiows down good tunes and a very heavy right foot went throught tyres just as quick as i went through fuel :shutup2:

Sorry if this is n00b question, but does the 180 or ZS in general have a petrol warning light? Or do i have to rely on the gauge which goes up and down dpending on what kind of corner im going around? I've never taken it too low and always fill up early because one min it looks like its empty and the next theres some left. I always seem to only put about 40 litres in which means theres still 2 gallons in there everytime i fill up!

Tank is 12.1 galls, think theres 1 gall that you can't use (due to position of pickup pipe) and the light comes on when theres 1 useable gall (thats 2 in total) left.

I never knew that. So when I ran out of fuel a few months back, there was still a gallon left? Haha!

Ive just worked my mpg out for my 180 and with a combined motorway journey, didnt drop below 80 for around 70 miles, and a weeks worth of traffic crawling and some playing with the diff in the rain I got 21.8mpg which I was quite impressed with.

I used to only get 25-28 in my 120 once all the mods were done. I think when driving with a heavy foot theres not a huge amount in it, the V6 copes with it better and the 120 you have to rev the tits off it. But then if your going to do eco driving then you can get the best out the 120.

True, the 180 is more civilised at speed, my old Rover 214Sei was a right little screamer, I was always "giving it large". I do the same mpg in my 180 as I did in my SEi.
