proper skanky I know but don't wanna be throwing money at the V6 as I don't plan to keep it long.

If anyone has a second hand one that works lemme know.

Could it be worth just dropping the whole housing in boiling water to see if it fixes mine?

If it was me seen as you have got to remove the old one i would just shop round and fit a new one and just list this in the add when it comes to sell it dont make sense to put a secomd hand one

I would get it sorted as soon as, the thermostat can cause loads of problems. Not that expense to do either, take a look at Rimmer bros.

Chances are a second hand one is no good as it'll need new 'o' rings anyway. Finding one that's not worn or cracked is another thing.

Just buy the kit from Rimmers and be done with it you cheapskate! :tease:

I agree with roverdave, the hassle of removing the thermostat housing in the first place, and the cost of the parts, Id just put a new one in anyway. Even if the plastic bit hasnt broken yet (assuming its the actual thermostat knackered), sods law states it will about a week after youve refitted it anyway.
