I'm looking for a cheap ZS 180 saloon. I'm not particulalry fussed about the condition of the engine, suspension, brakes or interior. The body needs to be in reasonable condition.

This is surprising that no one has come up with a car yet

Have you tried Pistonheads Ralph?? They have various cars on there...

or Desperate Seller...........another site that has many owners desperate to get rid of their cars

They're obviously not that desperate - cheapest 2.5 is £3,495 for a 2001 with 73,000 miles on the clock!

i enquired about the silver one, it has some scratches on the car, one along the bonnet and one on one of the sides, he did send me pics of it but i deleted them and he has been trying to sell that for some time now

The first one on Piston Heads ceartainly looks good. Not keen on the second one, as I don't like silver cars.

I'm currently bidding on a XPower Grey ZS on fleabay. Please don't bid against me!

ah I see!

Yep the Tahiti Blue ZS is very nice Ralph!!!!

One to go for! I'd want to see the engineers report though.

Other than that its a bargain although worth getting him down to £2500 for what it is! Bearing in mind I have seen quite a few higher mileage but tidy/undamaged ZS 180's for the same kind of money.

i did think about going to have a look at the blue one but it did put me off that it was a cat D, i know its only minor but it just put me off in trusting the bloke who fixed it as it dont need an engineers report being a cat D

ah I see. Thought all written off cars needed an engineers report to allow them back onto the road.

only cat C and below cars do even though Cat A/B are total write offs not to be put back on the road, Cat D is that the repair is more than the value of the car normally stolen and recovered or light damage but these are write off because of mainly labour charges

Any luck yet Ralph?? I see the one on ebay you are bidding for will end tonight.

The 'local' one looks a good bet.

No luck yet, but still bidding. I've just been offered my old ZS180 hatch! It does have some damage (rear crumple zone), though.

Don't even think about it dude! :look:

Be good for parts though if people were interested.

Nice alloys, front bib, sideskirts, rear spoiler, engine, gearbox, driveshafts, suspension, 180 brake system, doors, bonnet, green Monaco seats, mirrors..... plenty of parts that will be handy for folks on here. Le Mans green wasn't it??

I reckon the local one is a good bet although that Tahiti Blue one is gorgeous!!! I can imagine that on track already with a EMS bonnet bulge as well (shameless plug sorry! LMFAO!)

Oh, i thought that might have been the case. Would have suited me if he still had it lol!

Never mind - was a nice rare example.

How old are you John if you don't mind me asking...

I'm 24 and expect insurance to be around £600 - £700 but I got that quote at the age of 23......3 months before I turned 24.

Are you after a mk 2 ZS then??? I know there are a few mk1 ZS' kicking about in Trophy Yellow.....

im 21 in december. Ive just sold my zr120.

Yes its gotta be a mk2. Dont want a mk1 i'd sooner not bother. I'm quite happy to wait until next year.

Failing this its gonna have to be an astra sporthatch 1.8 petrol or 1.9 cdti.

For some reason the vauxhalls work out to be loads less on insurance than the mgs.

High bid was £1,950 and it didn't reach the reserve! Okay, there are still two more options on my list. Anyone know of any other really cheap ZSs?

Is this for some sort of secret project car Ralph? Have you tried SMC?

Its for his new toy! :shifty: although not much of a secret

RalphG

Its not a particular secret that I have a 2.0litre supercharged engine looking for a home. I bought the engine with the intention of fitting it to the Twilight ZS, but found that I would have to lose the ATC - a luxury I wasn't prepared to sacrifice. Now I'm looking for a donor car to fit the engine to.

I'm sure one will turn up soon Ralph. Someone must have a ZS which is slightly tatty.

The way I look at it is this........a car with a running engine and good bodywork is likely to sell for £2500.......a car however with a dead engine should be sub £2000....same goes for one with very shoddy paintwork or the like.

Its getting the Bittersweet sold thats the biggest factor.

Oi Oi Ralph

No such luck with your search mate..........yet again all the cars going for £3000 mark.

Have you updated your car sale advert on Piston Heads?? If you get one sold you have enough money to buy any good car in excellent condition.

Might come and see you tomorrow even though  isn't there. Probably going to swap my van wheels over first though if its not raining hard.
