Just thinking out loud really, Im considering of eventually making a one off bonnet to go with a modded front and rear bumpers.

Was going to replicate one in carbon fiber to cut weight but also thought about added some vents. Nothing like a scooby or chavy, would have a go at making it a cold air feed with some ducting.

Maybe some thing like the old RS to complement the side vents.

Just think the MK2 has so much potential for the body work that MG-R didnt quite get out of it.

Remember Loz had a go at putting some on his but cant picture the final result now.

there was an orange one on ebay over a year ago with bonnet and bumper vents. looked quite good i thought. wish i'd nicked the guys pics as it was an unusual one.

The bonnet ones were positioned behind the headlights i think and the bumper ones were next to the spats.

Was going to do a lightweight version of the original bumper I made with a leon splitter moulded on.

Think staccato sold the car.

We had a guy from a composites company come and talk to us about carbon fiber and thats what got me thinking. He had a cf wheel that weighted nothing prob 3-4kg max!!! Asked him how much they went for.......a grand each!!! Did ask him if he had any defected ones, as Id spray them anyway so looks werent a problem but he didnt think so, did say hed have a look though!!

Cant you get Uni to pay for the bonnet as a project, showing how to use the latest materials.

It's not orange but there can't be too many like that, is this the one you meant?

good god that's ugly! Looks like a proper Halfords bodge job

to be honest I don't think the bonnet is the right shape to really suit vents

Still think the way to go would be to replicate the MGR project car bonnet that was meant for the supercharged ZS, it looked like it was meant to be that way and doesn't look *****y like halfrauds chav types

I louvred the bonnet of my old Vauxhall Firenza, I did it the hard way. I marked out where I wanted the louvres and actually punched them out on the flypress! Took four of us to manhandle it and they left it for me to take the swings after lining the marks up! :D

Looked bloody good too!

Think it'd need to be understated. Used to like the powerbulge on my 420GSi wedge.

Yer gives me something to think about, never been a fan of the SC bonnet something didn't look right, like it was an after thought. Gonna experiment with venting for the airfilter to get a ram air effect.

how about one of those small bonnet intakes that used to be on the renault 19 16 valve, could look good.
