.... I've got it.

Picked up the diesel ZS saloon today.

Stephen is a top bloke. Described the car bang on - flew up to Newcastle and we were done pretty much as soon as I saw it coming in to pick me up. Looks awesome.

Went to the pub, for a coke, and exchanged documents for ?20s and I was on my way back.

Pics in the week as it's dark now, but it's a great looking car.

Yep ..... I thought the 180 was good here anyhow, but yep, was decent enough urge from say 1800 - 2700, but then it just kinda - well ran out of puff to be honest.

One thing to try Dan. I always put in Millers Sports, 2 cupfulls to a tank of derv.

They reckon it boosts cetain ratings and gives you more power. Any motor place should sell it, or here.

Get a panel filter as well.

Don't get me wrong fellas - I seriously love this car. It's not the same as a 180. I maybe just need to get used to it.

I will have a wee look to see if there is anything not right with it. First step will be to go to TCS and get it RRd to see what it's putting out. Then if it's low, or strangled somehow, I'll start looking into it.

I'm fairly sure that I'll end up doing something to boost performance a bit, but it ain't gonna be by throwing loads of cash at it.

I must've done 250 miles today on just under half a tank by the way .... :punk:

if its reading wrong it wont be fueling right, if you unplug it itll go back to peset settings so youll feel if it feels quicker or not

So - unplug it - it resets - and then put it back in and drive - or unplug it and drive ?

unplug it completely and see if it feels quicker, if it does plug it back in and buy a new sensor lol

Dan hope you enjoying the car and its not too slow for you, with you being used to the 2.5l lumps in the past.

you can get a MAF fro and Alfa or a astra now as they actually use the same part.. all you need to do is to change the housing and fit the maf into the rover one.... if you get more go below 2k then your maf is dead.. if you get a limit at 4000k that is normal too.. only the MK2 will put the light on for an unplugged maf and it will clear after 50 turns of the key...

glad you like the derv.. you will get used to the lazy torque and laugh all the way to the pumps - as you drive past them :)

Got a new maf yesterday - Pierburg replacement - just need a 5 star security torx tool to remove it.

Still not convinced about it really - but I've been in a 3.0l V6 for the last few months so might just need to get used to it. Looking forward to a drive in Pete's to compare. RR ASAP.

It''ll take time Dan, dropping down from a 3.0 V6 is a big ask to expect no differences. My TD5 Discovery isn't exactly quick but it does a job and was bought for a purpose. Once you get used to it and see how much you are paying for fuel then you'll soon adjust to the idea.

I never expected it to be quick pal ..... but in all honesty, my Focus was a Ferrari in comparison.

I'll get to the bottom of it and all will be well. Like I've said - I have a new Pierburg MAF to put in there and by all accounts this will change things significantly.
