Been crawling around in the zed for the last week very rarely going above 3krpm although It come back as 19.32mpg! Its all be city driving so would be low anyway but expected to see in the 20s at least.

Going off the gauge (not the best I know) I got 70 odd miles to 1/4 of a tank than another 70 out of 1/2 a tank. Seems to drop once it gets past the 3/4 mark pretty sharpish! Got a total of 140.7miles from 33.1L thats 30p a mile.

My vis arnt working properly at the moment although keeping it below 3k that should effect it, i guessing.

Seems too low i reckon just wonder if it could be over fueling.

Jay, mines got similar issues...

Am going to change Spark plugs, crank sensor (due to starting issues) and run some redex through the system... then will revisit the issue incase its something stupid like that :)

Yer I changed the sparks and fuel filter recently so doubt the sparks are to blame for mine. Prob a sensor of some sorts.

190 - 200 miles per full tank to almost nothing in the tank... driving like a grandad! definetly an issue with my fuel consumption!

You with the AA Jay? I have their breakdown repair cover and had an o2 sensor done under their warranty last year. Just costs the ?25 excess.

Is the 02 sensor used throughout the rev range for fuel management then? For some reason i thought they were just for idle control? Any kv6 guru's who could enlighten us? :-D

Jay i had this problem on mine, really crap on fuel so tried an old school trick out before going down the route of changing sensors etc, undo your airfilter and put a pair of tights over it and drive for a couple of days and see what your fuel is like then, all of a sudden it went back to normal on fuel, so got the jet wash out and gave my filter a good washing, so the problem on mine was the filter was blocked

Jay, if youve got a duff lambda your MIL light would be on, either P0124, P0135 or P0175 or maybe even another code. one of my precat lambdas was shot from trying to start it with no petrol in. ran like shoite for 6 months till i could be arsed to finally sort it out. was returning less than 250 per full tank [to the click] now sorted back to 300+ per full tank.

Scangauge reports 15MPG inner city average and anything between 29 and 33 when you hit the A roads. So is your MIL on then?

Jay I doubt ur sensors are at fault. If your vis isn't working that will give you poor mpg. I saw u in it last sat afternoon driving into marks+spark up by me. It's tapping very loud! Is that ur vis or a tappet?
As mentioned worth checking air filter as well

Some of u guys are getting bad mpg! I get a 155 miles on ?30 (at 1.25.9per litre)

I spotted you on your way out. Think it's a tappet Dave as it stops when warm, gonna put some derv oil in it next week in hope of sorting that out. Will sort the vis out as well.

Gonna replace the hose to the air filter so will clean it at the same time.
Also got a sheddist kit to go on so will be busy.

If anyone wants to feel depressed , think of this...... 120 miles on ?40 of fuel = 3 miles per pound in fuel alone
100 miles on ?20 of fuel = 5 miles per pound...... Now that to me looks rediculose , where does the government think we'er going to get the money to run a car ?

My zed still gives 320 miles to a tank with mixed driving. It's better on fuel than my TD5 Discovery.

Well Ive got a new breather filter and piping to fit along with a cleaned filter, so will see what difference that makes!
