Well the plan was to spend money on a refurb but i decided to sell the 18"s and go for a brand new set of wheels for the ZS.

I have always liked the Kei range of wheels and especially the Turismo 3 alloy.

So got a set of new wheels delivered today :D

Here they are......

Looking good sammy i like it :) just needs a little slamming

did you have to buy the slim tuner locking wheel nuts or did u get them with your alloys?

sduk
19-10-07, 01:51 PM
yeah got the slimmer buts and locking nuts with it mate.

thanks for the comments, i do like them, wait til you see them in real life if you are unsure :D

im not sure if they make coilovers for the 110? or if the 180 set would fit?

Shafz
19-10-07, 01:55 PM
should be the same throughout the range are they not?

Hey, wait a minute? Duel Exit exhausts on a 110??? :yikes:

What does that do for performance?

Definetly need to do an engine swap with a KV6 ;)

oh and Coilovers are the same accross the ZS range IIRC... you can adjust hight and stiffness so should be the same part :p

sduk
19-10-07, 02:21 PM
so if i were to go for coilovers would it mean sacrificing ride comfort? or can you have it really low and still comfy?

The beuty of coilovers is you can adjust it to any setting (within a range) that you like...

So you can have soft and low for every day and then with a twist of a knob (oo err!!) you can have hard n low for track day use.

Don't go too soft though else you'll hit the bump stops! (not to mention make your handling worse!)

Personally I like it hard anyway...

Look OK but prefer the older ones. Still looks nice though.
Don't drop in a KV6. Never build a car you can buy. Waste of time and effort. It certainly makes your car unique being the 110.

Nice but as already said, prefer the old ones !

Also, from what i've previously been told regarding suspension set ups, the 180 and the diesel use different springs and dampers to the rest of the range due to the extra weight up front :)

Sammy i am gonna go against the first couple and say those new rims really set the car off. Look much better than the others IMO.

Oh and as for the coilovers yeah you could simply go for some designed for the 180 (although to be honest never seen um defined specifically) would just need to make sure it used a slightly lower spring rate at the front and slightly softer damper setting.

thanks for the good (and the not so good) comments :D

i really do love them and believe that if you are not sure and you saw them in real life you'd like them :)

17's are so much more practical for me. Cheaper tyres, no scraping on arches (old ones did) nice shiny new rims aswell :D

Craig the chop is awesome mate, i had done the same myself. Im tempted by coilovers but for over £500 once fitted its a big investment, we only have one income at the moment cos Char is now a student.

Next thing for me is rear dark smoked window tints and possilbly HID's and wind deflectors :)

The lowered pic on those rims is winning me over. Multispokes do look nice thats why I think I will keep my straights.
Ahhhhhh undecided. Mind you, your motor so if you love it then the rest of our opinions pale in to insignificance right

I'm not sure about them TBH... I think i prefer the 'old' ones, but the OE 11-spoke are hard to beat.

It's your car at the end of the day and whatever makes you happy. :smile2:

looks good but your other ones looked huge but i like the style of the new ones but can help think what an anthricite coloured set would have looked like??

nice choice tho spot on

Think they look nice but maybe a taller tyre would fill the arches. I am guessing they are 40 maybe a 45/50 would fill the arch a bit more.

As for the coil overs lots of people are talking about being able to adjust the stifness. You can do this where the compression damping is adjustable. Effectivey you slow the rate that the oil can pass between chambers, this will stiffen but is not a substitute for the correct spring rate. Coil overs come in 2 standard sizes and springs of all weights and lengths are available.

I would suggest that if you get a set of coil overs for a KV6 model you get a lighter spring. The KV6 is about 40% heavier that the K4 engines so spring rate around 30% lower should do the trick.

If you simply do it on the damping you will end up dialing the compression right down and end up with no adjustment left to customise the ride.

Ross, have you kept you Kei off the ZR, they would look great on the ZS.?

only things I did to the chop were the wheel spokes powdercoated black, medium tints, coilovers, and silvertech indicataors, but it's so effective isn't it :)
