Some pics off my phone from when I picked it up in Manchester to keep grimmy happy :smile2:

all I have at the moment but will update tomorrow once it's clean

the large stack of cash required to make sure it came home with me

And after the first clean

the first mod!

some blue hoses fitted that I had left over from the ZR

and the biggest problems, a cracked rear spat and some rather dodgy touch up work

Another Longbridge registered car...

yeah I thought that was funny, this was actually run by MG Rover group. It still has the original MG Rover group plates!

probably explains why the mileage is so low and the badges are so faded

There seem be huge numbers of MGs registered at Longbridge. It was a fiddle operated by MG Rover (and all other mass manufacturers) to artificially boost their sales figures. They registered the cars, ran them for around 1,000 miles and then sold them on as pre-registered cars at a discounted price.

I currently own 3 cars that were registered by MGR. Two have BX plates and the other one BJ. My Mk1 ZS was also a BX.

yeah that car is on an 04 plate but is actually an early 05 build. As for as I can tell from the log book they kept this one for quite a while as a demonstrator.

still it's nice to know it kicked around the factory for a while

Smashing motor mate. Definetly needs the spoiler imo too. Never knew that about longbridge registering motors.

Wheel swap, does that mean there will be a set of 180 alloys going spare??

Cheers buddy. I'm keeping these on for the winter, so probably around March time when the gritters are safely parked up for the year :clap2:

Might get it lowered, I'll see how it looks with the 18"s on it first. Other than the wing getting the rear spat fixed, going for a quote at SOS for a cat-back again same as on the ZR and HIDs will be back in soon hopefully. Then got all my ICE to put back in, fit rear electric windows and tidy up the insides

Wheel swap, does that mean there will be a set of 180 alloys going spare??

unfortunately not, I'm keeping them as winter wheels :santa:

Love the touchup on the grill. Why do people bother.

One day they will realise that plastic doesn't rust and painting it makes it more obvious.

Looks really nice, I want!

it's sorted now... took 3 coats because the purple used was so dark. Grrrrr!

Wing arrived today... booked into the body shop on Friday! Got the rear spat sorted today too and it looks so much better

Apparently the back of the rear door has been re-painted at some stage, and the spat was snapped during removal (because the guy removing it to fit the new one did exactly the same thing!)

Looking good now... I just had to drive around all day with loads of tape holding it on all day lol
