Dunno if I asked but what the watch out points for one of these and how do you get a targa top off is it 2 sec job or a 10 min

Main thing to watch for is the standard HGF if it is a K series.
I guess the targa tops are a 2 second jobbie, it is for the whole roof on an F, much quicker than an electric hood.

Just looking at a couple that have had belts and gaskets done
And to be honest if I can get the roof off once in summer it's all good
Good for getting babes too.....lol

Well I could have a 1.0 punto for ?540 a year
Or
1.8 vvc targa top rover coupe ?545 a year
Which one
Well a no brainer for me
how are you getting such cheap insurance? lol
look for rust around the arches espiecially the rear and the sills, pretty notorios for rusting there seen many fail an MOT for them

I work for aviva and I am getting something ridiculous like 75% discount off what it was ment to be sp would have been about ?2100 a year and I see a nice red one no rust belt and gasket done half leather interior 100k less that 650 so might be a very easy phone call just needs taxed tho
pretty good! could do a deal on my trade insurance its with aviva:P think my dads policy is ?4k or ?5k

Belts aren't an issue on the VVC K-Series like they are on the KV6 mate, just check for noisy VVC mechanisms and obviously early signs of HGF.

So do they go a bit rattely and how could I tell if they're not right and with any mg/rover any gunge walk away

the rear brakes are quite bad for having issues, so check all the rear lines are in good condition and not rusty
apart from that just the usual stuff, make sure it goes into gear smoothly when the engine is turned off, all the levels are ok and make sure it has a spotless service history

Targa is a 2 sec job but storing the glass is another thing. If you don't have the bag you have to support them somewhere. I used to slide mine in the back seats, in the gap between the backrest and seat. Fit there nicely but it depends if you need your rear seats or not. Then I got a bag for ?20. My mate took them out once whilst I was driving!!
Another thing that people overlook is the boot opening. Although the boot is quite big, the entrance to it is very shallow, so getting large items like subs etc is not really possible.
Other than that go for it. Mine left a lasting impression on me. Great cars that look awesome.
I might get a r200 Cabriolet for the summer and stick the coupe bumpers and spoiler on it. Looks just like the coupe then.

So rust gasket brakes vvc mech and service history got it
And cant wait as no body else will have one without a doubt
Especially with that power at 17 and a targa for the good weather
Just keep my fingers crossed
P.s I won't be ruining it by putting stupid sub or dat in it anyway
Shame you're so far away. Mine is now up for grabs. MOT till october, taxed till august. Head gasket done last year, 94k in nightfire red. Full leather, with black dash conversion. Small signs of ageing but dent and scuff free.

I had two of them and loved them to bits. Had a turbo but I preferred the Honda d-16 engine?d one sounded great and was way more reliable. Had a night fire red and a Solar Red and the later faded quite a lot. As for roof once you get used to it you can take it out while sitting at traffic lights takes seconds. If you should look into a turbo look for a FDH model better spec?d and usually much lower miles infof them here http://www.rover-coupe.com/rcoc/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=13&Itemid=19

I noticed the Hyundai ...emm rover and it was out of budget I like the purple one aswell but I like reds and I always liked the ideas of the roofs just getting used to it and had a look at the specs of the vvc and 0 - 60 7.8 secs and just noticed there's 2 hyundai rovers now a 05 reg

The Hyundai thing was a joke lol
That purple one is very nice, i'd start with a smaller engined car for your first car though. A little R25 would be a good start.

I always wanted this colour or the turquoise green but they never did the turbos in them so I had to settle for Tahiti instead.

Tahiti blue is nice aswell as the purple but the nightfire red is the best by far
My biggest car regret is not buying a 220 Turbo Coupe. I agreed the price for it (?10,000) and the garage drove it up from Manchester to Glasgow for me. When I saw it it was a M-reg and not an N-reg as they'd said. Meant it was the pre-facelift model, not what I'd agreed to buy.
Anyway, I took it for a spin and it was a dream to drive, except that the clutch was really really heavy. It was a struggle changing gear with it tbh, dunno if something was wrong. Anyway, they wouldn't take a penny off the price I'd agreed so didn't buy it, but to this day I still regret it :) Was a beautiful car, targa roof, silver/blue colour.
