Thanks for the comments guys.

Yeah, lot of work involved there. I used a 6ft paintbrush and the bumper was in the way ;)

Whats the strut brace you have fitted, not seen many on the v6 due to clearence issues. Is it an off the shelf one?

Nice work on the lights will look loads better :)

Makes my poor old rusty calipers look even worse now, must get some paint and attack them.

Like the lights, best of luck with the manis.

Its a rear brace from a mazda MX-5. Took ages to find one that would clear but took a chance and it fitted!!

Headlights take some prising once hot but they do come apart relatively easily.

I set the oven to about 90 degrees and 'cooked' them for 10 mins!

I might redo them though as the roof and gutter seal I used to reseal them must not be sealing enough as there was condensation in one this morning!

I'd have been pooping my pants putting it back together and would no doubt be left with a few bolts and screws and be sitting there scratching my chin wondering where they'd come from....

And I think I'd be a single parent if I put my lights in the oven !!!

We need more photos of this - which model MX5 did it come from?

I'm liking the blue, red and white, looks real nice.
Would like to know more about the MX5 brace too, might have to get me one of those.

This is the one I bought (took me ages to choose it, was checking wheelbase width, boot size and everything on mx5 first) - Click here!! (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220741095233)

Heres the thread of pics with it fitted close up - Here!! (http://www.themgzs.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=16099)

Its the perfect width and height and doesnt foul anything!!

Its bolted down by only one nut either side at the mo, but seems strong as the forces still act against the bracket as they should (as opposed to twisting it or something). I need to find someone who can either weld the bracket straight onto the car for me or weld a custom bracket on. At ?30 odd quid though its a bargain!!

Callipers look good red!

Im a bit confused about what you did to the headlights? You cooked them in the oven? Or do you take the reflectors out?

Haha

Nah I just stuck them in the oven to heat up the glue/seal to get the glass off. Then painted the reflectors black. Headlights are a bit duller now though, like they were with the original bulbs again!
