Plus I had a gallon left, making 49mpg :D
And the amazing thing is, its with 'that crappy' Morrisons petrol!
Proves that the big companies are conning us!
Thats mostly A and M roads at 60-65 mph with 3 adults and loads of luggage. All I did before was a oil change to Gulf competition 5W, cleaned the cone filter and pumped the tyres up.
I cant believe this 9 year old barge can do nearly 50mpg!

Not bad though.

Woah, that's amazing. In 6 years of ownership, the most I've seen from a full tank was 400 miles (motorway driving @ 60mph when I was testing how far one tank would go). The 1.4L should be economical, but it's overworked in a ZS :|

The TF135 does 450 miles to a tank :) - Or can anyway!

I kid ye not... I got 400 miles to a single tank (in my 180)... once... was well chuffed :D

Mind you, was just me in the car, with nothing in the boot and was only motorway driving without lead foot syndrom...

I managed 420 once whilst on holiday around Brean, not sure how I did it but was shocked. Most have done since which has been repeated has been 350, average is 320.

Now that would be impressive from a 3 gallon tank!

Yeah decent return - I'm getting just short of 600 without thinking about it. 200 on the first quarter of a tank this time having filled at a shell. ;)

Ive got 410 from filling it up til the pump clicked to the light coming on, 5 miles before services on M11. had to fill up, didnt want to risk running out at 4 in morning!!! I think i kept it at 55 to 60, a very comfy foot position:clap::clap:

lets hope your near and LPG station when you run out!

remember LPG is only 70p a litre where i fill up so i get a good 25-30 litres of gas and its only a 110 and i dont exactly drive like a lunatic either so i think ive got enough fuel last me till at least next friday.....

Plus it still runs on normal petrol when the LP runs out so im not bothered :D

I have been considering an LPG conversion, but with only 7-10k a year it would take a while to pay for itself.

ive had 51mpg out of my zs td but my dad done a 708miles out of a tank in his zs td which was 59mpg that coventry to glasgow and back plus a few miles round glasgow over 5 days but he is the king of mpg

Zs td has a very low fuel consumption IMO, considering it is not common rail injected (but it's fairly quiet and lively though and it has actually got very good throttle response). Keep it in 2000-2500 rev band and push up to 1/4 of a throttle when accelerating and your ZS td will love you and give you most miles in return. But if you give it over half or a full throttle when accelerating you get minor difference in seconds but huge difference in mpg. Almost double... None to mention it is ridiculous pushing it so hard and over 3000 or even over 4000 rpm (mine will rev to over 5000). It will suck your tank dry very quickly and give you nothing in return. I keep mine somewhere in the middle to get most fun out of it. That's right, fun. And I get it in between 2500 and 3000 rev band, with not over half a throttle when accelerating. This way I always use all the available torque and get only 5-10% less mpg, and get 85-90% of acceleration. Oh and I don't use my brakes so much and do not slow down overly in the corners in order to maintain the speed (I use it's good handling for fun) and always use a higher gear when cruising. These driving habits fit both me and my MG. I suppose not all of them are the same and know for a fact all of us are different I think and each owner should blend in and not be to easy on the throttle and not torture the thing either... If you trash it to much, a diesel will give you one heck of maintenance figures and become a real pain in the neck...
