As you know Im all for modding but that is ridiculous!!!

Im presuming he has an intercooler under that scoop, otherwise why have it there???

Even if I had an Impreza I would fit a front mount and remove the scoop as they are proven to be detrimental to aerodynamics. Go in an Impreza doing over 100mph and you will see scary lift on the bonnet!!

My mate and I have seen a Mk1 Trophy Blue ZS with a homemade scoop in Paddock Wood, Kent.

Look where the seller is from on Pistonheads, says it all! LoL :smile2:

Looks more like something you would find on top of a tower block, an air conditioning duct! Maybe it's to help with getting cool air into the cab judging by the temp in there!

"Loads spent on it" and "ripspeed" are mutually exclusive.

Untrue.

Go in a classic impreza over 100 and i think you will find that no air actually goes into the scoop at all.

All tested and verified with intake logging equipment.

Air hits the front end and "bounces" over the scoop, hence why the later cars had taller scoops fitted to protect them at speed.

The bonnet lifting is usually down to the poor design of the bonnet itself, usually much worse on the imported cars with the lighter alloy bonnet (remember these models were speed restricted)

Its forsale with a Dealer now, could be there sometime unless someone has a bonnet laying around!
