Hi folks

Thought you might want to see my before and after pics of my 56 plate mk1 MGZS before and after I converted it to a mk 2. This consisted of a new front end, new rear end and new dash. Plus 18" mille miglia alloys in anthracite (private plate)

Cheers!

Simon

This is for sale if anyone's interested. 1.8 Steptronic Gearbox registered 25/12/06 but not put on the road until July 07. In excellent condition! Offers around 3k

Nice car and a nice way to beat the sellers rule buddy

Well worth 3k if you ask but im not a fan of the wheels at all and i think someone cut half the exhaust off :p (just points from a buyers perspective :) not meaning to be horrible)

Anyways if you keep it stick around and if it breaks ask for help on here

Clearly a lot of effort gone into the car but it is still a 2002 vehicle with the DVLA even if it does have a 56 plate. Good luck with the sale considering it seems that you have only registered on here to sell it...

I think I would have kept it as a mk1, purely to confuse people given that it's on a 56 plate.

Nice job although having converted a mk1 front to mk2 myself cant help but think it would have been cheaper to have bought a mk2 in the first place.

Good luck with the sale :)

The number plate hasn't been mis-spaced I had it made that way

The exhaust hasn't been chopped it's just shorter on a mk1 as the mk2 has bigger bumpers

I've not listed it on here to sell it i've listed it on here as it's an MGZS on a MGZS forum. I run it at weekends and am happy to keep it or sell it. Not really bothered either way.

It cost very little for the front end (?200) and wasn't cheaper to buy a mk2 plus there are very few mk2's around on a 56 plate anyway. The DVLA have the year of manufacture for the vehicle as 2006 not 2002 (which obviously isn't correct) although it never saw a road until 2007 as it sat at Rover as a display car in the factory and was actually sold by administrators in 2006 plus it only has 33k on the clock

Hope all this helps!

they was just saying it in a jokey way that your reg plate is not how its ment to be and that you need to get a mk2 rear box to finish it off

I like it .... auto box is a personal choice. I've had a few and really like them.

I haven't got the hang of the semi automatic side of it as it changes down itself and tends to rev a lot so I just leave it in auto! the fuel economy is around 25mpg does that sound about right?

Fuel economy will always be down on a manual, but depends still on your driving style and the route you do it on. If I was getting just 25 though - I'd be looking at the fuelling etc and if there wasn't anything faulty - getting a V6 manual to be honest.

What you will find is that the car was manufactured in 2002 and as you said it was sat around as a display vehcile. Then it was registered in 2007.

I know when it was manufactured yeah ive researched the commission number and I believe the VIN numer also has the year of manufacture in there somewhere. I'm under no illusion the car was made in 2006 if the company went bankrupt in 2004. Im interested to know what it was doing for 5 years after production in the factory though. Was there a visitors area / museum you could visit to see their cars past and present?
