Just won myself a Rover 220 turbo coupe on eBay!

I've had a couple of 216 coupes a few years back and have always fancied a turbo version and this one looked good, was cheap enough and is fairly local for a change so took a punt on it!

Once I get it home will get it all checked over to see if alls well then once im sure it is then it'll be time for the ZS to go!

Yeah me too and especially a coupe so as long as it's all fine and dandy it'll will be replacing the ZS!

Had this 180 almost 3 years which is the longest i've every kept a car just was getting itchy feet so to speak!

I was watching it ..... I,m kinda stuck at the minute .... do I go T16 into my ZS or go MK2 ZS....and if I do decide to go T16 I,l buy a whole car as that way I,l get the radiator , intercooler , ECU any wiring loom , etc that coupe looks like a good one , I,m sure you,l be pleased with it

Welcome to the T16 revolution :-p

Thanks for that and I'm looking forward to experiencing a turbo car (well petrol turbo anyway) and fiddling to get a bit more power!

Not sure it will be getting an engine spec like yours for a long while yet though!!

Yeah I already have the house and bills so will take a while longer!:)

I think I'll be concentrating on getting the car in tip top condition first but with basic engine mods then maybe think about building a new engine in the garage over time!

You could always T16 the 180 so you get the more powerful engine in the better handling car.

Better handling maybe but not better looking! :smile1:

And handling can be improved!

If it turns out to be a dog a may consider it but that would be a last resort!

I used to fancy a tomcat but TBH I feel they look a little dated now and I never like the look of modern cars when they are modern!

Good luck with the Tomcat Turbo Brett, I`ve always liked those myself, sadly many of them get messed about with & then ragged to high heaven, hopefully yours will be a good example! :)

Well I ended up not actually getting the coupe as it turned out the ebay listing wasn't quite acurate so I pulled out!

Been looking for something else but nothing has really caught my eye so ZS is still being used!

May I ask what the problem was with it ? ... I dont know the car or the seller , I,m just curious as I was watching it too ( still thinking of the T16 conversion into my ZS)

Well it was an FDH model which were a batch of cars originally shipped to Japan then returned for various reasons. These cars had air-con as standard but the coupe in question had had this removed at some point but was still in the listing and a big reason I originally went for the car!
