I listened to the engine on the 180 I viewed last week, and it sounded very smooth. What does everyone else think? Watch it in HD if you can so the sound quality is as good as possible:

Bearing in mind the car has done 130k.

Sounds okay, sounds like a noisy alternator bearing perhaps but plenum and vis sound quiet enough.

Just alternator whine, other than that sounds rather sweet.

Worth ?700 then. 12 months MOT, belts done, fsh, just need to buy tax for it. It's in very good nick for it's mileage too.

This should be more healthy imo, it really gets in your ear, what do you guys think? On the other hand, maybe it's just K&N...

It's very clean, the only thing it has against it is it's mileage. It's had the same owner (a 62 year old man) from new. Slave cylinder has been done, belts done, no weeping in the V, no leaks, alloys in good condition, interior is fantastic apart from the seat bolsters, as usual with these cars, I will get these changed. I will get a chance to drive it to the MOT station when I pick it up, before I hand over any money. It seems unless it falls apart, I've had an amazing bargain.

I don't really understand your post, you mean the video you posted doesn't sound too good? Or sounds better than my one? It's probably a bit difficult to compare an engine without an induction kit, and one with. Looking forward to getting the beast kitted out with a nice exhaust (probably swap it with my 120's) and get a decat pipe.

That's exactly what I mean, thought the one on the video I posted sounds really nice but hard to tell if it was any smoother than yours, maybe just the induction kit makes all the difference... Small children should be kept far away of that air intake :-)

Sounds just like mine and mines on 46k. Always wondered what that weird whine is on mine, but now i know!
