Hi everyone .took my supercharged zs to nurburgring on the weekend . went round 5 times . didnt wanna kill it . my new wilwood brake kit was well up for the job . much better than the crap hi spec kit i took off . I dont know the track atall well but i managed a 9.26 min lap from bridge to gantry . i also did a wet lap of 10. 40 mins . very dangerous when its wet. Type supercharged zs nurburgring into youtube an it will come up. it was an amazing experience and i will be returning very soon. I think i am hooked on track driving and will be joining mgs on track to give it some more track time.

Always wondered, how do they charge you to use the track? Per lap or per time session or something like that?

Thats a very respectable time! Bet it was great fun. Always thought the grooves in the brakes were meant to face the other way? See its arrowed so obviously not. Will look up the video later :)

Just been looking at prices, seems very resonable, how much in fuel roughly to get there, and obviously round track ???

Not got time to watch the video but it sounds like fun.

The ring is actually a toll road but with no speed limit! You pay to get on it and drive round once.

If you read the small print in the europen recovery policies they all have a cause that excludes "1 way single carrage toll roads" or something like that.

That looks like tremendous fun and the Zs sounds superb with the charger.

This is why there are so many breakdowns and unexplainable crashes within 5 miles of the ring! ;)

lol That was me, I jumped in with gaz to save fuel / tunnel costs instead of taking my zr160. He even let me have a spin round the track in the ZS AMAZING is all I can say although as I was worried about crashing his car I took my time and did it in 12.44. Already planning a return trip next year with my ZR going aswell

Think we should try and get a load of us going over at the same time, make it like a special MG meet, would be fantastic, as after seeing the vid, I so wanna go round that track in mine :-)

Pmsl, they'd think we'd invaded again haha, even better just do it on the 6th of June, never mind D-Day, MG-Day haha :-)

Low compression pistons are from omega. custom made . i did all the research before going . no car insurance covers u on the ring so if u crash u pay for everythin. breakdown cover excludes the ring but the rings add recovery gets to u straight away and drags u off for 189 euros . it was bout a tank and half of fuel each way and prob bout 1 tank while there . accommodation was 60 quid each at lindner resort which is renting a house for how ever many days .euro tunnel was 100 quid . so to get there round the ring and back was about 500 incl accommodation for 2. obviously food and spending money ontop. not bad price . glad i done it as there is talk of the ring poss closing

Loved the vid, but it would scare me to death, putting my derv ZS around the ring.

Been round Brands a few times but think the ring is a different animal and its too quick to bite you.

Thought you drove it well and had me on the edge of the seat, love the sound and grunt of your car.

The ring is a very fast track and does not offer much grip. In the video towards the end the cars back end broke away and we crapped ourselves but i managed to get it back without any issue . the lsd definatly helps. it doesn look it in the vid but when it happened we were doing 90 mph

I made the mistake of putting "crashes at the ring" into Youtube, one was a MGZR 160.

Didnt look like he did much wrong, but like you said the rear can just step out and you are in trouble.

Would the lsd help pull it back???

Great driving, great ZS, addicting sound of that charger. By the way camera/man shakes one can tell how much courage is needed to go for a spin on the ring ;)

I find this track difficult even in video games so I can imagine it can give you the creeps...

Recently I watched on youtube 6:48 official record done by Michael Vergers in a Radical SR8, fastest production car on the ring. True horror.

I guess 500 quid is not to much after all to have a go in yer own zed. Great fun!

sounds awesome, think you could have gained a few more seconds if you had never got held up at the start, what was with the random caravelle?

They're on back to front aren't they? The grooves are the wrong way...

Not all discs go the same way. these are clearly marked by the arrow . if on the wrong way the brakes suffer cause the gases cant escape .

lol would like to break the 10min mark!

Sabine did it in just under 10:24 in a Transit van so I think you could easily be there under 10 in yer derv!

Fantastic video dude

I will be taking the touring car over when it's finished, so far the cost of getting there has put me off going with anything else. I've no idea how much it'll cost to get there with a trailer! lol
