Well today I made the journey to Inverness and met with Lee (bigmac) his wife and son to collect my new mk2 180.

To say I got a bargain is an understatement and Lee serviced it and polished it to death before parting with it! His wife even clean the interior. I have never been more impressed when collecting a new car.

Sadly it is currently dark and wet which means it got completely filthy within hours and, being black, is not photogenic right now.

Tomorrow I will post up pics of all three of our ZS's parked up, they are surrounding the house!!!

Big thanks to Lee though for handing over a superb motor!

Lucky you, did talk to the wife about Lees car, when he first put it up.

Bargain of the year I reckon, but I was only thinking of using it for track days and they would have been few and far between.

Much better to be used and loved.

It's black saloon mk2 180 with day running lights, HIDs, powerflow full exhaust.

Am glad I snapped it up instead of waiting to sell my 110, it's been very well looked after and is in better nick than some more expensive ones I've seen! Plus all the mods I was going to do anyway!

Means I can jump straight in to the full PC install with front/rear cameras, sat nav, wifi, obd2 etc...

Nice motor that one I say, and a real bargain :smart:

Looking forward too seeing more pics and the progress thread on your gadgets.

I've read about Lee's story and I hope he finds a good replacement, gets well quickly and buys another zed - Zed's a virus that doesn't cure for ages

When the time comes, will ya sell it back to him

Cheers guys, loving the car. Tomorrow will begin the change.

1. MG Xpower tax disc holder to be fitted.
2. Fit black tinted lights currently on 110.
3. Figure out what the diode thing on the dash was for and decide if I need it as it is currently missing lol.
4. See if I can mod the cupholder to fit snuggly.
5. Replace one rusty bolt on the wheels for a standard bolt.

That should do for now I think!

Actually, can someone just tell me what the little nipple thin on the mk2 180 dash is for? I assume it's linked to the climate control as the 110 just has a blank plate...

I always thought it was for alarm? Climate sensor is the inlet beside controls afaik

And what effect will I be having With it missing?

Not sure tbh, the only thing I've noticed when driving is the fan speed increases when sunlight falls on the sensor

You should get an error code on the climate display, you may find that the sensor is there just inside the dash?

If you mean the solar sensor, i'll bet if you lift the blank with the hole in it you'l find the sensor has just come lose and is underneath.

When i got my MK2 180 i wondered what the hole would have been for and lifted the flap up and the solar sensor had just come out its holder. Feel free to add to rep.

Well due to the weather up here, managed 2,3 and 5. Also swapped stereos. Sadly all 3 ZSs are filthy!
Took a wee snap on my phone of them surrounding my house, you can just see the track car peeking out at the front of the house!

Smokey

Well it will either be with the red and black mk2's or the black duo....the red one will help fund the track car repair!

Smokey

So today it was semi dry so tackled the VIS indicators. I had a niggling doubt that there was an issue as I wasn't getting the usual 3k kick.

The VIS kit immediately showed the balance motor was faulty so an hour later I had it off and a working one on.

The kick is back! The vis indicators show everything working as normal.

So, sheddist kit, oil catch tank, vis indicator kit....is there any other 180 specific, forum created, custom item I am missing?!?

Was tempted Dan, but thought it wouldnt get enough use to treat it right!!!

Glad it went to a good home.

Cheers Pete, its going to get treated like a prize possession. Next month sees the track car coming alive and a fully customised centre consol with PC and many toys.
Then a wee break before full dash upholster in black leather, 4 sports recliners and a central arm rest in the middle that has a hidden touchscreen for the pc.
But will be at least a year before it'll be all done.
Then I'll consider more engine mods like lightened flywheel, cams etc.
It will all take time but I am excited :):)
