That's good going. What gains are people getting with decating ???

well that is because the two exhaust manifolds have precats in them so you dont really the cat in the middle but if you have changed the manifolds to janspeed manifolds then would need a cat on the car

But if he had changed to Janspeeds, he ovie doesn't need the middle cat, coz the car passed.

Well done on the pass, what was your emissions btw?

Think he was referring to the change in the MOT check list.

And don't think the janspeed mani's have precats in them. So would still need the cat if you had them on your car.

The Janspeed manifolds dont have pre-cats, however the "full" kit if you buy it comes with the Janspeed sportscat.

I know he needs a cat to remain legal, but he ovie didn't need the cat to pass this specific MOT

I cheated slightly.

I have standard manifolds, a decat and a twin exhuast.

I was well impressed with the emissions on a 10 yr old car that's done over 105k

Fast idle test
CO 0.06% (max 0.20%
HC 11ppm (max 200ppm)
Lambda 1.00 (between 0.97 and 1.03)

Natural idle
CO 0.07% (max 0.30%)

Although the certificate says 3/1/12 the car was mostly tested under the 2011 regulations as the initial test was done on 23/12/11, unfortunatly it failed on poor hand brake and a split CV gator, both things I knew about.

I like the fact that the new style of certificate shows any advisories so that a prospective buyer can see what work was recomended and I guess check if it has been done.

You can look up online to see all the MOT history since 2006 with advisories. Although you need the V5 ref number. I remember checking my dads car out whilst in the dealership.
