I had a new rear caliper fitted today at the local garage I use where a mate works and his dad owns so thought I would ask whether the 180 is gonna fail this years MOT because I have a de-cat!

He initially said yes as a cat has to be visually there so I said do the 2 pre cats count then and he said yes if he can see them they will do so happy days!

Thats not a new law.. That law has been around since cats were introduced in 1993.

It has only come into the mot that regardless of whever the car pases the emissions test if the cat is missings its a fail!

180 has one pre cat not two. Easy to see.

I thought the pre-cat is hidden in the exhaust manifold. Are they really visible? Got my test on Monday and I'm going in with de-cat fitted so would be handy to know!

Oh, great! Looks like a cat indeed. Surely checks the box for the visual inspection on a MOT?

Hence why it is best to have an OE looking decat with lambda boss and sensor fitted along with the MIL kit.
