Didn't no exactly where to put this thread but i thought here might get me the answer...
does any body have close up pics of how they have mounted their struts? i have the hinge and struts but just need the pins to go into the bonnet, but while these are on order i just want to know where people have them mounted?

cheers Chris

Most people use the Civic ones as they are an easy fit.

I have civic ones, one end has a bracket that bolts to the hinge with the ball pointing out, the other connects to a ball that bolts in instead of a wing bolt.

Thanks in advance.

The ones I got came from the US and are Carbon Fibre but where more expensive.

The 96-00 is the correct shape.

Me likey too, definitely getting them at a later date. Having spent over a ton to do the rear calipers today, non essentials are on hold! again!

I was going to try and fit some from an 800 but that would be a fair bit more work to bodge. Think it easier to save and buy a set of these instead.

I could also do with boot lid lifters as the boot lid loves to fall onto my head :( lol

Go to the scrappy hunt for suitable rams, get dirty then haggle about price!

or

Buy a kit which will fit straight off!

I know what I'll be doing.

You can re-position the boot lid springs to give a bit more tension.

That broke the clips (white plastic and body colour metal ones) on the TY 180....

Fitted Rams from a Jag to the TB 180 :)

THink my next saloon will eventually get Rams too...

However mine use ball and socket joints rather than just bolted in place and I left one of the springs in place to make the boot pop up when opened :)

Thanks ZS !! I'd leave one spring so then the boot is popped it should rise to fully open!! Nice idea with the ram under the shelf. I was looking at doing it the same as the bonnet rams but that is much neater!

Why not use Civic ones, that's what most have done, it's a simple bolt on job.
