how easy would it be to drop a diesel engine into a zs 1.8 petrol done a montego years ago and was just one wire to connect for glow plugs ???

need a different fuel pump, ecu, wiring loom, exhaust, front intercooler and all the intercooler piework, radiator, coolant hoses, fuel lines up to the fuel filter, different battery tray and battery i think

Its ok havin running issues with mine lumpy tick over a poor fuel consumption any ideas ?

You will have to change pretty much everything. Just sell it and buy a diesel zs then use the time which would have been spent converting the 1.8 on tuning the nuts off the diesel.

Or buy a Rover 45 then swap bits the ZS bits on to it
