I have a ROVER 200 BRM .

It used to belong to The Lutis of Dreadnought garage, so its been very well maintained.

Pics and info to be added shortly, just testing water on here to see if anyone would be interested.

Looking for £750.00 firm

It would be a shame to break it giving its rareity..

Tempted as a track car!
Are they as quick as a 160?

MG6Turbo
19-01-12, 07:09 PM
Probably better as they have an LSD as std.

better box but less power as standard, tbh at the moment i can see the brms becoming a classic in a couple of years if its kept in good condition

Well me and a mate are looking at a track car, but needs to be fairly quick.
Whats the overall condition, many dents/scratches?
I hope you dont mind me asking and you dont have to answer this, but how did you come by it? Any reason the Lutis got rid of it?
Always liked the BRM.

Shame to rip it up as a track car but if you do then you could make most of your money back selling the interior to a ZR owner.

BRM's have a slower 0-60 and a lower top speed. suspension is softer on the BRM but just as stable as the 160 but the LSD as already said wins ;) plus the looks and the lovely interior ;) Shouldn't have got rid of mine :(

How does it compare to your 180?

How does it compare to your 180?

BRM is easier to throw around country lanes but the 180 has the touring and V6 sound advantages. I personally can't compare them, they are totally different machines.

If you check the likes of Parkers, kerb weight of the BRM is lighter than the ZR160, 1060kg vs 1145kg, 143bhp vs 158bhp, if you do the maths there is nothing in it with power to weight. Other than that, as said the BRM has the torsen which makes this car a bargain in my opinion.

I'm very good friends with the Lutis and they have bought a few cars off me now.
I sold them a car and have taken it in part ex.

The car is generally in good nick for its age and had the headgasket and belts changed by Dreadnought.

There is a BRM on eBay at min which is a mot failure and it has bids up to £430 at the min.

Its to good for a track car!! NOOOOOO!

I thought my std BRM,handled as well as my ZR on coilovers. I these are a great little car, a must own for any MGR enthusiast.

Tempted myself, as a commuter.

My brother has a BRM and I had a ZR 160 for 3 years (still have it just upgraded to the zs 180) All cars have the standard suspension. The longest run I have done in the BRM is 120 miles each way and the handling cant be compared to the 160. It feels like a boat in comparison. The 160's handling/steering is much sharper and less body roll. Ive had endless fun in the 160 and would not have been comfortable cornering the BRM the same as the 160. Now I have the ZS 180 it feels like the ZR is a boat!

MG6Turbo

Driven all 3 on track.

zs is by far the best on track and road all round.

BRM would come 2nd and zr 160 3rd.

the zr160 is too harsh and skitty. The BRM even though may feel a bit boaty will still handle when pushed hard, especially with the std lsd fitted.
