:chop: I took it for the LPG convertion 2 weeks ago, first week was fine, then last weekend it started missing at about 70 on the motorway. Conversion people said "bring it back, sounds like calibration." so it went back today, and I collected it tonight. Drove it home in rush hour traffic, then took it back out to fuel station an hour ago. Driving down the A38M, it missed a couple of times, then the yellow check engine light came on. I hate these LPG cowboys now. I am 1400 lighter, and my car's shagged:rant:my life is just......:pileofpoo:

Oh no, I hope it's not been damaged, doesn't sound too good. Did you try the car on petrol at all, or is that just when on LPG?

:( Hope it's something minor and easily fixed...

I'd have thought so. After all it was fine when it went in and now it's not...

I did try it on petrol but the light stayed on.

I called them today (after wife dropped it back there) and all morning they told me they would look at it this afternoon.
called back at 1, told to call back at 3, called at 3, told to call back at 4.30, then 5, then 5.15. then told it was on road test and to call back in 10 minutes, called back every 10 minutes until 5.40, and then there was no answer. called 3 more times 10 mins apart...... no reply. I think they went home. they have my desk phone, home phone and mobile number. No calls.

I hate them. I will have to call again tomorrow. not confident. very very sad.

Grrrr how hard is it? At least if they made a balls up to phone you and say 'we have made a balls up and will sort as soon as poss but may take time'. That kind of customer relations sends me up the wall. Really hoping for you mate.

My thoughts are, when they first fitted the LPG, and I got it back with the SRS light etc on, they tried to cancel it out. Their laptop seems okay with cars upto 2003, after that, they struggle. The Rover specialist who sorted it has a T4, so If they don't fix it, I might tkae it to him. at least he can interrogate the error codes and tell me what's Phooked.

There is always a solution mate. Just hope they haven't trashed your motor too bad.

I am going to hope with all my heart that their wives give them syphillis!

See this is something that i have been told recently. Retro fitting LPG isnt anywhere near as simple or indeed reliable as anyone suggests. There is plenty of evidence on the net that many car makers engines (toyota being one that springs to mind) simply cannot cope with LPG. Many suffer with a similar problem to leaded cars running on unleaded where the valve seat is erroded away.

I do hope you get it sorted but if they are an acredited fitter then complain to their governing body.
