The above is my old pump

Got a "new" pump from CW breakers, treated myself to a new fuel tank from rimmers.

"New" pump worked fine, until today, I noticed that the fuel warning light was coming on even though the fuel gauge said quarter tank.

Filled up just in case, and it took 49 litres, so looks like they sent me a dodgy fuel pump (well bad sender anyway), whats the odds of them replacing it, so far heard nothing from them.

Also what a pain, that I have to drop the tank again, least I know what I am doing this time :)

I give them the benefit of the doubt, I'm not so bothered about the dodgy sender, as these things happen, but I will be a bit pi$$ed if they dont refund or replace it.

Maybe I should have not been so tight and bought a new one

I always buy new when it comes to pumps. No point in doing the job more times than you need to especially when it's a pita.

They just responded and said, swap my old sender off the pump on to theirs. And that they are not refunding as all they sold was the "pump" not anything attached to it!!!

I feel a paypal claim coming on.

Dont do themselves any favours do they, bit of good customer service feedback would certainly help.

Only hear of late delivery, damaged goods delivered etc. If they take that attitude they should have removed the sender before posting it off!!!

I'd stick a paypal claim in mate, the sender is part of the pump, so them saying they only sold the pump doesn't wash.

It's a shame that CW seems to have gone this way as they used to be a pretty good supplier

They said that I had damaged the sender when putting it in, don't know how he knows that, since he didn't watch me do the job!! I didn't, I took my time and it slotted in without trouble.

I did think that I had bent the metal rod maybe, but it doesn't quite get to the top of the gauge and if you sit there and watch the gauge, its constantly moving up and down a for mm or so, so something is wrong with the sender itself.

I think I will just claim and let paypal sort it out.

Don't let them get away with it! Any old excuse with them!
