I have for sale a Rover 400 T series Turbo track car, it was originally built by Ralphs mechanics and I purchased it recently. Due to a change in circumstances (again) I would now like to sell it so I can find somewhere to live.

Here are some pictures of the car Ralph and others have taken during Ralphs ownership:

Known jobs to tackle are: replace two front seats but there is a blue Monaco rear seat in place, I removed the carpet as I intended it for track and it was a ZS one not a 400 one. I also accidentally pulled the wire off the oil pressure gauge but this shouldn't be too much hassle to fix.

Good bits: limited slip diff, Spax coilovers all round, ZS180 brakes all round and reliable running.

The car is an ideal track car for a group of friends and I am after £800 but open to offers! 4 mates and £200 a pop sounds a bargain to me!

Or make a great sleeper, bet it would surprise a few.

When I saw it at a Leeds Castle meet, looked a neat install, went well.

Did create a lot of interest.

Looks a nice car. For potential buyers, how much tax, MOT, service history does it have and was it originally a 420? What is wrong with the seats, they look fine in the pics?

no tax and currently on SORN. I don't recall service history as it is modified lol. The engine was from a late 620ti. The car itself is a 420iL. The bucket seats that were in it were inadequate for my big fat arse so I sold them and was in the process of replacing them with two blue Monaco fronts using 400 frames.

To be honest it is a case of fitting a new bucket seat in the front drivers position or a 400 seat from scrapyard so it is driveable again.

If you mean you want it and want to work on it yes you can do it on her drive. There is room of two cars and she will understand it is to get it off the drive.

Seriously guys I just want as close to what I paid for it back. I have one grey vinyl Monaco S bucket seat left in my garage. If you can get some 400 runners, two pieces of box section and a welder over here you could drive it for half hours work and having tools and know how.

Can't believe I missed this thread ! One of those where I click new threads - don't read them all - and then gone when I come back !!!

I'm dead keen mate - seriously - but my mate is now prepping for a Florida holiday and so I can't confirm anything for a couple of weeks.

The thing for me though is that it would need to be road legal as it'd be parked on the road. What's the score with getting it MOTd ?

Other option of a southern track car is viable and if this comes off before I can commit to buying it alone - I'm in.

It just needs taking to an MOT station to be tested and that's it. It was road legal up until the tax and MOT expired last year. Insurance wise it is a modded 420iL with a 2.0 turbo engine , ZS 180 brakes, SPAX coilovers and that again is about it. Try sky insurance I was told.
