My Orange Grove 180 is up for sale again it has to go need a cheap to run small car for the wife to use for work.

Firstly it is a CAT C registered car it was wrote off for virtually no damage its had a new bonnet only and it still has original front bumper. First pic shows bumper damage. As far as i know there is a chance that this maybe the last MK1 in Orange Grove still alive. It does have a few marks on main body but is not that bad.

Has 2 keys and 2 fobs
Heater works on all speeds

Plenum is rattling :(

Looking for around £1100 ono

Tell me about it! Tax is during track car this month and MOT on mk2 180 next month! Hope you get a sale mate, bumper being damaged is probably the only negative to a lovely car!

Honest opinions please do you think it would sell easier if i replace the bumper?

Bottom line Alan is that it's hard to sell these anyway - buyer's market big time.

With yours having a bit of a bumper issue and a rattling manifold - it's just not attractive unless you're giving it away. Get them both done and then you've got a decent car to sell, but even then it's only gonna make £8-900 IMHO because there will be people out there put off/scared of it having been a CAT C.

I was watching a really nice Celestial Blue Mk1 53 plate on the bay with half your mileage, and it made £850.

My view - advertise it as it stands with the issues. Highlight the rare colour and also maybe try to get a deal for some straights and some cash for the addendums - ZR boys love them - then you can reduce the asking price of the car.

I'd love it mate, and would make you an offer, but I can't get anything until June at the very earliest.

Yes

I think the price is still a little high being a cat c but as you say, it is a very rare colour and very nice indead but means you are looking at an even smaller market than some one just wanting any 180.

edit

I was also watching the blue one. Also very nice, not as rare as the orange but not one you see every day. I couldnt talk the wife into it. Only 48k and it went for £875.

The issue with the bumper is not the damage itself, it's the knowledge that respraying another bumper is going to be expensive instead of being able to source one in a matching colour for £30.

If you want to sell the wheels seperately Alan I'm interested. Can do you a mint set of straights with tryes plus cash?

I got rid of one prelude boy racer through some bends couple of nights ago, he was near my rear bumper barely long enough to see the badge

be a shame to break that alan, i reckon its just the bumper damage putting buyers off, because its a great looking car.

Think thats the best result, sort the bumper when you can and the price must go up.

Better than giving it away!!!
