I've already proved I'm iffy on mono's but I recall typhoon being a blue/green switch, green/purple i think may be shot silk but don't quote me google images may be your friend here.

If in doubt get the VIN code colour for it.

Is it a genuine colour and not a respray? Looks more spectre than anything else. Steve's is Typhoon, so definately not that.

Thats a respray, is not a genuine MG Monogram colour

It looks kinda like Twilight from this pic, but not in many other pictures of twilight painted cars that I can find.

I agree with KevG on this one. I borrowed this photo taken by Sonic_160zr, which I think is the right monogram colour we all had in mind and which I think is the real twilight on caled's post:

http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/ee485/zsserbia/100_3205.jpg

after increasing saturation +60:

Even though different cameras have slightly different hue/saturation I am sure that it cannot vary so much, surroundings are the proof... So, defo a respray, I've seen this colour on cars other than MG/Rover models...

I just thought to give it a go and see if it was boosted in photoshop. Anyway, here's what I found on 'forums:

"I asked the guy regarding the colour, and this is what he emailed me:

Yeah its had a re paint in the aquarius paint work i was told by the previous owner it was done by am mg dealership under warranty, but the respray isnt an mg colour after getting the car from a chap in newcastle i did some research into it and it was one of the 6 monograp paints originally flipping from blur to pink and light grey i can get the name if req from vin plate but for some reason it has a PAINT MADE BY A COMPANY CALLED MIPA VIP PAINTS AND ITS CALLED AQUARIOUS ,ITS SOLD BY A COMPANY CALLED Q PAINTS . IF IM HONEST BEING A PAINTSHOP TEAM LEADER FOR A BIG INSURANCE COMPANY I PREFER THE AQUARIOUS THAN THE ORIGINAL LOL"

Wouldn't touch it if I'm honest .... but .... you never know. It might be a good one lurking under the dodgy paint ....

That one you are talking about was in Tadworth. I wanted to see that one but it sold a couple of days before I was going that way :( It was a hatch back though and I prefer the saloons

Why? If the car is straight and all is as it should be then what puts you off?

cud be the fact if it gets scratched fixing it wud cost more than the cars worth maybe??

Cost of matching any repair or finding replacement parts, and the fact that it's had a respray in the first place when there are as we've said really good straight cars out there for that money.

They are a niche market when they have non-standard paint done by the factory - never mind a respray.

It your Mrs fancies it though - why not - just not for me.

Fred68

I know the even a simple scratch would be a nightmare to fix! And yes it's a niche market for the colour, but if it's in good order it should work no worse than any other of similar condition!! There is the other side of the coin too which is as the car is unique it will be better looked after than a car in a standard factory colour!!

thats a hatchback :/ also from previous threads the garage owner talks out of his behind, its been for sale for months, not the 6 weeks he told a forum member!

I do like the saloon one we're talking about here, might be having a go myself tbh
