probably cos most have ended up as transplants for zr's. there must be more zr turbos out there now than there are 620's left.

cheers mate. thats the kind of look i was going for. its making me a bit mean and moody at the mo though. i hate hydraulic clutches with a passion.

That is shiny very nice, I can see its a very tight engine bay but would it not be worth relocating the air filter?

Love it. FMIC looks really mean sitting right close to the front. :)
Not too sure of the white wheels though.

the clutch has been playing up off and on for the past 6 weeks. changed the master cylinder, slave cylinder, altered the pedal several times and bled it up several times. just when i thought ive cracked it it plays up again a few days later. hopefully sorted now but we will see.

the filter is in a bad place and is to small really. it was the cheapest one i could find on ebay to put me by while i get the battery to boot conversion done. ive got most of the bits to do it now and a new filter setup. its just a case of pulling my finger out and doing it.

the FMIC is quite large so it was a case of it having to be where it is but it does look good there. when it was first fitted the bumper had a large opening cut into it which included doing away with the number plate recess but it wasnt sleeper enough so got hold of another bumper in the same colour and just cut out what was necessary. pic of the front with no bumper so you can see the actual size

the white wheels are not to everyones taste but ive always had a bit of a thing for white wheels

picked up my smoothed slam panel today from the powder coaters. had a mate weld the unnecessary dozen or so holes up. most will thing whats the point and doubt any one will even notice its been done but i think it just adds that little something to the engine bay. old and new to compare

got my twin pot brakes fitted a couple of weeks back and just got round to giving them a coat of paint. they feel more positive under heavy breaking but there is a tiny bit more pedal travel which i can live with. they would make a good upgrade for a zs 180 with it having a heavier engine.

realised ive not updated this for a while.

had lots of bits powder coated under the engine bay. early 620 inlet

http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz248/Fatdave12_photos/rover%20620%20ti/DSCI5315.jpg

alloy throttle body bracket to replace the rubber one

http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz248/Fatdave12_photos/rover%20620%20ti/DSCI3913.jpg

polished engine mount with powder coated stabiliser.

http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz248/Fatdave12_photos/rover%20620%20ti/DSCI5312.jpg

many other bits and bobs such as the strut brace ends, radiator bracket, etc...have been done also along with more stainless nuts and bolts.

a battery to boot conversion has been done to allow the air filter to be moved. spotted a brand new pipercross filter on ebay for £20 which was a bit of a bargain.

the engine bay still needs a bit of a tidy up where the battery tray was but i'll wait for better weather to do that. i will be making a box at some point for the battery too.

Credit were its due my friend, that is one awesome 620ti.

nice to see someone spending money and loving the car rather than pulling the engine out for a ZR!

Still looking good.

The T16 tubby and the KV6 engines come in at a similar weight.

When I moved my battery to the boot I used some boot carpet from a doner at the breakers to cover it so it looks O/E.

Are you going to make a cold airbox for the filter? TBH it makes musch less difference on a tubby than an naturally aspirated car but every bit helps, may even be worth moving the washer bottle to the boot and adding a cold air feed from the inner wing in the same style as the 180, I've done this on the T16 maestro.

eventually an air box or heat shield will be made probably more for aesthetics if im honest. if you look under the filter you will just be able to make out a hole. the hole was already there and is around 3 1/2 round so ideal for a cold air feed and no need to remove the washer bottle. i was tempted to replace it with a stainless/alloy one though.

Nice ti, probably the best car they ever put the T16t in.

I use that hole as the feed to my filter on the ZS.

the bhp isnt much above standard, about 220bhp i would guess. its running 13psi of boost currently. its still on the standard t25 turbo a t28 is on the cards at some point but im in no rush. the car does 40 miles a day so could do without the extra running costs that more performance upgrades would bring.

I love this car, Ive always wanted one of these and up until seeing your one the mrs has always said she doesnt like them. There is hope as your ti seems to be converting her.
Top work on what seems to be a top example of this beast.!

must admit there not the most exciting car to look at in standard trim but a few mods can make the world of difference. there still cheap at the mo but steadily starting creep up in value so if your gonna get one do it now.
