Isn't it just a 160? says the 2.0l engine was ripped out?

So what was the ZR at Zed10 then? £5k for something that isn't 100%, lost its appeal and originality.

Being really blunt about it, its a crashed 160 with different colour pannels and big brakes. If the faded xpower sticker under the bonnet makes it worth 5 grand then fair enough but I wont be buying it. Dont get me wrong though, it looks like a nice enough ZR.

Does seem a bit strong since it's not got the judd engine.

I believe the Judd engine was ripped out by MG Rover before it was sold. As above simply a 160 with a few rare extras

Rumour has it no cars were ever fitted with Judd engine. They were just 1.8 VVC's with a sticker. Apparently Judd never developed an engine for MG-R? Thats what some members on .org have said anyway.

they built engines for the LM cars, but that was it. The ZRX and X210 both had stickers on the engine covers

I'd pay £5k for it all day long. A real bit of history just prime for saving

Written off Zr 160 with big brakes, and a few stickers. take off the stickers and you wouldn't know any of its history. I wouldn't pay 1k for it let alone 5! Although the zrs don't interest me in the slightest.

The Judd engine was actually initiated by WSR for the touring car programme. It was also bought by Evans team that used a works zr rally car. Mg had nothing to do with the engine, however it did get shown at the motor show in a green zr badges as a zr x.

At a later date, Andrew Morrison bought an ex touring car engine and box and installed that in his race rover 200/mg zr.

Andrew Morrison used to sponsor me when I raced R/C cars... I had a model ZS painted the same as his V6 ZR. It was a fantastic looking build, and it went like stink!

I've still got the induction kit off that car in the loft somewhere, it's a work of carbon fibre art

If I remember right the ZR ended up with a Judd in it?

What did it have it in when he sold it?

It had the KV6 back in it when it was sold.

The judd engines were then sold !
