Im sure a basic conversion from AA is around £1000 but you have to supply the donor car. You can spend a lot of money doing it and its not exactly the most reliable engine in the world

so £2000 should cover most things then im guessing? its that or i look at swaping the car for something bit quicker and have grown to like the mg!

Give or take, thats the minimum spend. Ideally it would need a rebuild, possibly a new turbo and head gasket depending on condition + any mods you want to do to it.

£15k and climbing for a decent spec, bog basic standard done properly probably around £4500-£5000 (brakes suspension engine conversion parts wiring repairs exhaust cooling etc etc) it soon mounts up mate.
Engines and ecus are getting old and unreliable so ya know.....

Why not save up and get a car with power that you want. I wanted a V6 since passing my test, yea its only a 180 but i wanted the noise :)

Why not just get a 180, almost as much power as the T16 but is more drivable in everyday traffic.

I have a 180bhp in my maestro and it is fun but for going to work or the shops I'd chose my ZS.
