Amazing what you can find you know if you look hard enough. Rescued from Portsmouth earlier today with help from stamford  Great to see you guys too.

Fresh from a quick wash by the local Easterns to get rid of probably 4 months worth of South coast crud.

My new toy ....

So looks wise - not too bad - but close up there are a few little areas to sort out if I get the inclination - The front appears a bit dull and has had some paint repair at one stage I reckon ... Might get it sorted ... Might not ... And a few corners ...

As for how it goes - well - not too bad at all. I got it home easily - straight in - 120 miles later all good. As I said, it's been standing for a while and so I was pleased when it braked and went in a straight line with the wheel remaining steady, dead centre and no vibration. No real vis action to notice though and it did feel a sluggish so they are on the checklist. I'm not sure if this is a fair reflection or if i'm used to the BMW which delivers its power very differently, but like I said - seemed lethargic. Dyno run on the cards to check I reckon.

Also in terms of servicing - nothing there since 2009, but get this - belts changed with invoices and a clutch in 2009. Service kit getting ordered.

Anyway - on the list - some badges - new number plates - and a good wash and polish - have some fun.

All good ......

£400? LOL

I was thinking how good it looked until I saw the later pictures, sure it'll be sorted quickly.

My thoughts exactly .... ;)

Long term though. I'm skint and done well just getting the car with the OK from her indoors !

If anyone comes across a laguna/leon splitter anywhere - give me a shout.

Mate's just told me that he's got the tools to spray it up, just got to get the paint. Won't be a truly prof job, but as cost will just be the paint - it'll do ....

And ...... Taxed until April 2013 !!!

looks good mate,a couple of wee things to do to it,and im sure it will look great, bet your chuffed to be back in one again!!

Dan1971

'Tis good to have one again I must admit..... :punk:

Trouble is though ....

I'm looking at stuff for it !!! Can't help myself and that is not the rationale for getting it !!!!

George may still have that alcantara interior and lowering springs. Andy can do the front for the cost of the paint and then as it stands - It'd be looking good with a decent history loads of tax and belts done .....

Total cost after all that will be circa - £700 !!!!

What interior is in it Dan? If its red, is the bolster goosed like my red one? If not, there may be a deal to be made.

Nice looking car Dan :)

Apollogies I couldn't make it on saturday.

Is this for the track only? (driving to and from etc)

Interior's good. Nothing goosed at all - but - it's a hatch .....

No worries -

Most likely mate - yep - I can see me using it for messing about in at home - you know - the short trips to the shops, to the train etc - and for the track - and the beemer for the commute.

Fronts are the same.. and I think Smokey only needs the fronts ;)

Smokey
17-06-12, 09:42 AM
I only specifically need the driver top half lol, but you wanted alcantara, thought a deal could be made... I understand that saloon rear should fit a hatch, they are just different?

Smokey
17-06-12, 09:43 AM
Although, alcantara for a track car. Are you crazy lol!

Dan1971
17-06-12, 09:45 AM
It's not gonna be a track car in the same way yours is - and alcantara's just the only interior to have.

Don't understand why you'd want to go from alcantara to mine .... ????

Smokey
17-06-12, 10:08 AM
I'm not....I have other plans :)

Smokey
17-06-12, 10:12 AM
Talkingcars quoted as saying:

The rears should fit in a saloon if you swap the covers onto the frames in your car, it's not difficult as they are only held in place with clips.

The only real difference between the covers is that the hatch has recepticles to store the seat belt stalks, the only thing on the hatch that is better than the saloon.

Dan1971
17-06-12, 10:13 AM
What do you propose then .... ?

ZS
17-06-12, 10:14 AM
What about the middle seatbelt? Wouldn't that make the back of the rears different? (Saloon is 3 point belt, hatch is lap belt)

Smokey
17-06-12, 10:40 AM
That would be a question for someone in the know, apart from the above and the plastic clip that holds the middle belt, I cant think what else would be different?

And if rears work for hatch dan, I was thinking discount if supplied with cover I need lol dependent on condition of current driver seat of course.

Dan1971

Lay it out mate -

I give you my (what) - You give me (what)

The seat belt is bolted to the chassis, not the seat.

Smokey

Ok, need to know a couple things first. What level of wear is there on drivers seat in total?
Is the material section plain black, speckled or patterned?

Dan1971
17-06-12, 12:02 PM
This is what I took yesterday -

http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii58/danlaualex/DansnewZS011.jpg

I've just gone T-cut tastic on some of the scratches on the rest of the car, and waxed the seat. It's come up nicer. No tears. I'll photograph it a bit later on to show what it's like now.

Smokey
17-06-12, 12:38 PM
Yeah, an after pic would be great Dan, could you also photograph the same section of the passenger seat?

And do you have matching rear headrests?

Dan1971
17-06-12, 12:39 PM
Will do mate - no rear headrests though.

Smokey
17-06-12, 12:44 PM
They aren't a deal breaker mate, just wanted to know as may have made my set cheaper for you

Dan1971

Here's an extreme close up of the driver's bolster ... just a bit dry. a few applications of the balm and it'll be fine.

Loving the car Dan. Would you be willing to sell that top driver cover or want to trade for my alcantara? I have quite a few PMs asking for prices of my alcantara so not sure what to do to get best price lol!

Also, I won't be parting with them until the coming weekend as that's when I know exactly what my plans are.

I'll do you a favour smokey ....

I want your seats - the front pair - and in return I'll give you mine. You will pay for all carriage.

Now - keep your alcantara set yourself and spend whatever money you have sloshing around on your wife.....;)
