Kerb Weight of different Models.

Does anybody know the different kerb weights of the ZS models? On sites like Carfolio, it doesn't seem to differentiate between Hatch and Saloon, when surely there are differences? So can anyone fill in the blanks?

ZS 180 Saloon -

As far I I know is the Hatch is about 50Kg's lighter than the saloon.
So the 180 saloon is around 1285Kg's that would make the 180 Hatch something like 1235Kg's
The weight should be in the Vin plate on some form or other !!

The 120+ Zs's are about 80Kg's less than the equivalent 180 due to the lighter engine!! The 120 basic is 95Kg's less than the equivalent 180!!
So for example a 120 basic or non+ saloon weighs around 1190Kg's!!

It just got me thinking really, doing a VVC conversion on a hatchback ZS would be more or less the same power to weight as a ZR160, but with better handling. Food for thought!

my mk1 180 hatch was 1200 kilos standard on weighbridge, my mates mk1 180 saloon was 1235 on weighbridge.

You save your self 50 Kg's by using the K4 VVC compared to the V6! But unless you tune it the power to weight ratio is lower than the 180!! Also the saloon body is more rigid than the hatch's and has a better weight balance so will handle a tad better!!

A ZS hatch is 130kg heavier (2 teenagers or 1 fat bloke!) and 130mm longer.
But I'd take the ZS's comfort and multi-link suspension over the ZR any day.

saloon doesn't handle better, tried and tested it over about 4 years and goodness knows how many track days, I wouldn't say either is better than the other but fact is the hatch is a little quicker around a lap, they do handle very slightly differently but unless your chasing every tenth of a second then you may as well just say they are both equal.
I prefer the hatch, it has a bit less weight and a tiny bit more flex at the rear, this makes it very slightly less prone to oversteer under certain, right on the limit conditions.
Ive been behind a few saloons over steering where my hatch could just hold the line.

I am hopefully getting my car weighed on Monday. Stripped out with light seats. Should be interesting to see how much the full set of seats weigh!

removing all seats saves approx 70-80 kilos in a hatch, slightly more in a hatch than a saloon as theres more metal in them.
