As title:

My power VIS ticks very fast when it comes on (as per the indicator kit) so my question is this:

Is this a question of just re-soldering the connections? Because it is working just makes an awful noise when it's operating.

Will this cure the annoying ticking or is something not seated right/knack'd?

It sounds like a problem with one of the microswitches.

Maybe not, if you remove the power vis and turn it over you will be able to see the peg on the underside, if it is juddering it will probably be because the cam is not operating the microswitch, the fix is to bolt the m/switch to the pcb, I'll find a pic

Here's a pic, this only has one m/s fitted, but you can see the 2 bolt heads by the jumper wire I fitted to cure a burnt track on the pcb, the nylon gear in the pic has a cam on it which operates against the microswitch plunger to stop the motor overrunning the stop position, if the microswitch has moved slightly the cam may not be making full contact with the plunger.

So if I have understood that right I can bolt down the microswitch (provided it's in the right place) so that the spindle on the underside makes proper full contact with the operating arm.
Is that right?

And nothing to do with the worm?

Yes, you have it right, Sheddist has done a full write up on xpf about drilling and tapping the holes, and where to get the bolts etc.
