The garage said cost more to fix than what the car is worth, insurance might write it off,see what they offer me and if they write it off,try and see if i can get the car back if they do write it off

If you've got the time, space and inclination buy it back every time.

Cheers cally180,but the bumper has only the smallest of cracks, might get away with it,only reason bumper is not bad is that the pick-up was high at the back

Sorry to hear, but sounds fixable, plenty getting broken, just a shock to the system.

Glad no one was hurt and grand son is OK, thats the main thing.

Hope you can sort it without too much hassle.

Dont you get protected NCB, think it allows you a couple of Oops moments!!!!

lel-1710

Peter Best dosn`t give you any no claims bonus for the year premium, they said thats how they keep the cost down,I have a few yrs ncb still but have to use them within two yrs with another company and thats where i`ll lose the ncb when i declare the the crash

Sorry to hear about this, pleased it's not too serious.

The chances of the car being written off are high, they scrap ZS's for cracked bumpers, it's as much to do with availability of new parts as cost.

As long as there is no innerwing or chasiss damage it sounds like it can be fixed with a 10mm socket and a philips screwdriver if you get used parts.

I'll have most parts to fix. Glad to hear no one injured. Easy done!!

This is sad news after all your work to get it up to scratch mate. Remember I have wings in your colour and a front bumper if your turns out to be knackered.

Really sorry to hear this but glad nobody was hurt.

Pop a pic or two up when you get the chance though so people can give opionions.

Sorry to hear, but glad you're both OK. With the variance in height, you were to lucky to escape without injury.

Got a set of headlights in the shed you can have for the postage if you choose to repair...

Like I said above, an insurance company will write that off.

However thats an afternoons work, especially if it is only the passanger side.

I wouldn't even attempt to claim.

A couple of years ago I had some clown turn right from my inside and damage my wing, the bodyshops wanted £800 to repair it, I did it for £25.

The pick-up drivers company put a claim in for the little damage he had,so i may as well get something out of them,my premiums are going to go up anyway

Have you a facebook account?

I post my pictures on there and link to them, this works even if others don't have facebook as the photos are actually held somewhere else.

yeah that's what I do too, much easier than faffing about with photobucket

if you have the confidence to fix it then go for it, you're spot on that insurance companies will write off MGs for a bad scratch these days

Glad you bought it back mate. Wings are around £30 plus postage if you can find them in your colour. You can have mine for £20 each and I'll help fit them?

You can have my headlights like I said for postage. My suggestion would be to paypal me - say £20 as a gift - and then what I don't use for postage I'll refund. If that suits, let me know and I'll send you my pp details.
