mk 1/mk 2 door handles

i am after a door handle for a mk 2 and someone told me they are the same on the mk 1 as the mk2 is this true and can i fit a mk1 handle on my mk2????

Hi,im after 2 handles for mine as well,passenger front,and left hand passenger side rear,trophy blue if not i'd spray them,but not sure which ones-had a look on rimmers.
