When I have used mine for the daily commute it is a mixture of fast A and B roads over 35 miles and if used for a week I can average 320 to a tank, less if I 'play'. That's with exhaust, induction and remap. If driven sensibly I can squeeze over 350 to a tank.

my zed seems to do well, i normally get at least 370-420 miles out of tank.

I managed over 400 once, no idea how but I did that on holiday one year. That is impressive.

Is that 370+ down to the weight saving or is that with a full interior? Please say it's down to flywheel so I can jsutify the upgrade as another "efficiency mod"

haha not got a flywheel on this one sorry. Its sort of lightened as in no back seats, but other than that pretty standard but got decat janspeed full exhaust, LSD, it has had lightweight wheels on but not at the moment. i have got one of those magnet things on not sure if that does something and i always run on shell optimax stuff.

Lucky if I get just over 300 in mine, mixed driving but mostly round town.
Been tempted to try those magnet things but never sure about believing the adds or not as dont know of anyone that actually does use them.. Until now that is

You could LPG convert the beast ?

It wouldnt be cost effective for me to do that, plus I havent got the best part of 2K to do the conversion or whatever it may cost. For £20 odd though im tempted to see if the magnets work, even for maybe an extra 10 - 30 miles a tank itd work out better over 2 months for me.

Ive never heard of this before, how do magnets help you get better fuel economy ???

Apparently something about putting a charge into the fuel makes it burn more effectively and in doing so giving you better economy (not loads but improvement) and better performance. Again not a huge gain but apparently it gives an improvement. Like I say ive never tried before and have not known of someone to talk to thats fitted them but if they do give more mpg they may be worth a shot at for £20.

I don't think people are driving their 180's properly if they are getting 350+ miles out of a tank!

Mine don't barely get anymore out of a tank even if I drive like a vicar so I just drive it how it should be!

Agreed - I get about 220 in mine ...

And for the Op .... update us - how did the second half of the tank fair ? I rekon it plummeted !!!!

I wasn't saying I think that they should be babied around and be getting mega miles out of them as I do certainly push mine when I'm in it on my own but as its also the daily family car it would be nice to sometimes be able to get a bit more out of a tank as its not just used at weekends for fun.

Yes, how did the last half go as my last half a tank usually goes much much quicker than the first.

I usually work out my MPG for the tank when I fill up and the other week it was 23MPG and most of my driving is on A roads too!

Would be nice to get loads more but I just can't seem to do it!

340-360 no matter how I drive, it clearly likes me
Only time had issues with lambda sensors and did 290ish was fuming

Mine is normally around 220 as well.

To get 360 miles to the tank you have to be averaging 30 miles to the gallon.

I could understand that from a 120 but not a 180 if driven as per IAM, maybe these highly ecconomical cars live at 60mph on the motorway.

I guess a lot of this does depend on what you class as a tank like for myself i've never seen the fuel light come on which means there is at least 1.8 gallons left according to the manual which would be say another 45 miles!

I'm not bothered though as i just put fuel in when it needs it and I'm gonna make the most of it as all the cars I'm thinking about to replace the ZS with when the time come will be alot worse!

50 and 60 mph limits are a freedom for me here on the coast in Norfolk!
Used to 30 and 40mph, do open it up on way to Ramsey near Huntingdon when I see my brothers family but hardly ever see below 340 ish, it's a very clean well maintained engine

That's where keeping mileage and fuel records works well - www.fuelly.com

This link lists 14 ZS180s - http://www.fuelly.com/car/mg/zs/gas%20v6

When i went to Bude in September, (245 mile from home) i got there with half way between 1/4 and 1/2 a tank left, i am sure i managed 340ish before refueling. Red light coming on and off.
