IIRC the 1.4 was only released in Ireland :) so it is possible this is an Irish import...

Oh I don't know. There aren't a great deal of MKII's around of any engine spec I wouldn't of thought (although I can't back this up with any figures. Lol), but 1.4 ZS's in good Old Blighty I would of thought rarer still? I know they were sold in Ireland (and abroad I believe), but not many here. I'm sure i'll be shot down in flames!

I had no idea they even made one. I assume its the 1.4 out the ZR they put in it. That must be painfully slow !

Its about the third or fourth time ive seen this one come up for sale. Still at the same price too by the looks of it.

It has been advertised loads of times, but is genuine as the 1.4 was Ireland only due to the way road tax is calculated.

Oh yeah wasn't saying it wasn't genuine, was only saying that had seen it for sale before. Think the 1.4 is an ok idea for someone that wants the looks but can't get decent insurance.
I know over there it's supposed to be a killer. Personally though I wouldn't go lower than a 1.6 if I had to as would probably feel too slow for my liking.
Either way nice looking car although a touch high in price.

To be fair, there's about 5bhp between the 1.4 and 1.6 so given the choice, I'd go 1.4 for cheaper tax/insurance for all the difference it would make. Induction and exhaust could regain that power anyways!

The 1.4 is quick in a metro (we had my mums for a while), can keep up with a ZR105 but I can't see it working well in a ZS.

IIRC it was only available in Ireland and Portugal.

Hadn't thought about that to be fair, I guess I'm thinking about the 1.6 25 I had a few years back but then that wasn't standard hence why it went so well. Used to leave my mates stock zr 120 which he didnt like much. In standard for though you are probably right.
Need to stop thinking about my old 1.6 and think of a base line model.

hi . ive had two 1.4's and yes im from ireland , lol

don't find them that slow but the road tax and insurance is a barsteward over here so the trusty 1.4 keeps running costs down a bit ,

i find if you get her rolling and keep the speed up they handle like a go-kart and will take any bend at a good speed so there are pros and cons ,

heres mine ,

Notice the rear bumper does not have the cut out for the exhaust (I think all the 1.4 ZS bumpers are like this)
